“FYI effective Jan 1 2014 there will be more Americans without health insurance than there were in all of 2013, because of Obama Care.”
Linda Motley on Dec 10, 2013 at 12:07:48
“FYI - that will be by personal choice, not because of the ACA but because of insurance companies canceling policies they do not want to upgrade and by people not wanting insurance. Another FYI for you - all those people choosing not to get insurance coverage will have their medical expenses paid for on your dime when they get sick or injured and need emergency care. Is that really what you want, to continue to pay for the health care of the uninsured? BTW, what is it you have against people having insurance to pay for their health care? Are you really ignorant of the fact that people with pre-existing conditions (diabetes, epilepsy, cancer, heart disease, etc.) have historically had their health insurance canceled mid-treatment and then refused coverage by other insurance companies? Is that what you want to happen to yourself, your spouse and your children? I wonder if they know you consider them expendable...”
“FYI Obama is either incompetent or a fraudster probably both.”

“He is neither. A tad on the naïve side in some cases... but then the Conservatives are gullible; they will take any bait that tells them what they want to believe - whether it's real or imaginary. That's why you should never get all your information from Faux or Breithbart.”
“Obama wants to have Government control of all health care eliminating free market competition that is what Socialists strive to attain.”
Dosadi on Dec 10, 2013 at 19:40:10
“Your fear of logic and progress has caused you to stop thinking.
You speak of Socialists as if that is a bad word. Nothing could be further from the truth in the year 2013. These are the countries you attempt to vilify.Canada, Uruguay, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtensein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom. Australia, New Zealand and pretty much the entire civilized modern world. Your fear of Socialism is outdated as these countries now provide healthier lives for their citizens than the US does. Nothing is more important than health. Wealth is a hidden trap that will always lead to inequality and eventual revolt.”
“I hate to inform you the prognosis for Obama Care is guarded regardless of what you and others like yourself feel about the current health care system in the US. Physician participation is wavering daily.”
NHGranite on Dec 9, 2013 at 22:58:09
“Yeah, Obamacare is so bad that Republicans are going to stop calling it Obamacare and call it ACA or something, anything that doesn't remind us how much it has helped millions of Americans. Obama cares. PS - it's working in Massachusetts. Face palm”
“A law based on deceptions and lies will never be accepted by the majority of people. The US had the finest health care system in the world with some deficiencies is now being taken apart piece by piece. Fact: many people come to the US from around the world for health care.”

“Your post and facts are worthless. What's frightening is you truly believe the ignorance you spew, enough to publicly post your lack of education and awareness. If you're too arrogant to accept the posts of others, at least "Google" U.S. Healthcare and read up on the subject. You'll readily find we are near the bottom of the list. Our Healthcare was an embarrassment, the only winners being the Insurance Companies and Corporate America. Without asking, I'm relatively certain you're Republican. ACA is long overdue in this country. It has issues and requires tweeks and modifications, Medicare was no different when initially rolled out. No large scale program is flawless from inception.”

“IF and it's a big IF they can afford it. The rest of us, not so much. Until you know personally what goes on, Doc, don't scold us. I've worked in hospitals, for insurance agents, with Medicaid and Hill-Burton Free Care and I am now disabled. I paid my way to the Mayo Clinic to volunteer for a trial med. I went to specialists in the Boston hospital zone. I have never seen poor people from other countries, unless they were sponsored by groups of rich people, get care here. I personally met people from all over the world at the Mayo getting specialized treatment. There is even a heliport on one of the buildings for Saudis to get flown in for care. A German woman from Brazil came up once a month. We do not offer this level of care to our own citizens. We do not take care of our Veterans at this level. We do not treat the poor after they are discharged from our emergency rooms. You refuse to acknowledge that, but I bet you have no poor people in your town either. Well, not that you have ever seen.”
Linda Motley on Dec 9, 2013 at 22:37:41
“"The US had the finest health care system in the world...." - yeah, as long as you had premium insurance coverage, no pre-existing conditions, didn't cost the insurance company too much and had lots of cash in the bank for when your insurance was canceled. For the rest of us, bankruptcy was the only outcome after a major illness, accident or cancer treatment. The ACA is providing coverage for millions who had been denied medical coverage before, and it is preventing YOUR insurance company from canceling YOUR insurance when you have that heart attack, stroke or cancer diagnosis that's in your future.”

debnran on Dec 9, 2013 at 22:30:29
“The only deception and lies surrounding the ACA came from the GOP and their mouthpieces - Sarah "Death Panel" Palin etc. If you read the law that was passed, you'll see that there wasn't any deception. Obama did say that as the parts of the law became activated, that we would see what needs fine tuning. There were "glitches" with the site - which may or may not have been deliberate attempts to discredit and end "Obamacare" which would have been paid for by someone - most probably the Koch Brothers. I don't think Obama realized that so many Americans had junk medical insurance though.”

“We are ranked 46th out of 48 countries that were studied in the world, in healthcare efficiency. What scale do are you using where it is "the finest"?
Rich people may come here for care because it certainly is the system that most values personal wealth, over need or other humanitarian factors.”

“Fact: Many people are travelling overseas for "Affordable" healthcare. I got an MRI in Kiev last year. Cost me 12 Euros. Doctor who read it got his MD at Brown Medical School. And they gave me a cup of coffee while I waited.”

Oh give us a break from that fairy tale will you?
Don't you realize that if it was true we would not be ranked number 37?
We rank 37th. that is no where close to being number one.
The US has the highest 1st day infant mortality rate in the the industrialized world.
That means we can't even deliver babies as good as the rest of the civilized world.
Fact: over 750,000 Americans went to foreign countries in 2010 for medical care. That is more than came here.
Did someone force you to print this tripe?”

“Your post is based on deceptions and lies will never be accepted by the majority of people. The US has the most EXPENSIVE healthcare system in the world.
“When I was younger I never needed an MD until I was in my 50s, except for school sports, employment and military physicals.”
jgraham209 on Dec 7, 2013 at 20:19:18
“And that's generally the case with most young people today. The majority of college aged people who were polled said they would pay the fine rather than take out insurance. They don't think they need it, and more than likely, they're right. That creates a huge problem for ACA, so where will the money come from? Taxes. Lots more taxes. People are in for a bigger surprise when they see the new tax laws, starting next year. I recall the Republicans warning about this tax increase, and I suppose people will realize they were right.”
“That is why Obama wants to increase their health insurance premiums so younger people can fall deeper in debt, it's the affordable care act for whom ?”
jgraham209 on Dec 7, 2013 at 12:25:24
“You nailed it. It's the younger generation that is supposed to carry the brunt of the expenses of ACA. They are healthier, and will use insurance less than older, sicker people. Obama was expecting them to invest enough to take care of the cost of subsidies and expenses incurred when the less fortunate start tapping into the system. The young aren't signing up in masses, so guess who gets left holding the bag? The middle class... once again.”
