“Industry statistics show that 80% of hotel workers are immigrants - and I bet a large percentage are illegal too. The 2nd largest occupation for illegal immigrants is the hotel industry (after construction).

By using temp agencies, hotels not only save money but they can plead innocent when the press or government discovers that they are employing them.

The only ethics corporations have is not getting in trouble with the law. They care only about their executives, shareholders, and customers. The only value that workers have is how cheap they can be obtained.

The IRS has ruled against Microsoft for using "permatemps" for permanent positions. It's time the justice department investigated the hospitality industry.
