“Because they need his vote in the future. Lieberman might be an a44hole on Health care, but don't forget that he supported the very progressive budget last week. He also supported SCHIP (national health insurance for all children). And he is probably going to support other progressive measures except government-run health care. Nobody wants to give up this one last year with a supermajority in both chambers.”

“As the debate continues I have come to realize that the real problem is that none of the proposals offered up by the Democrats will effectively reverse the tide of rising health care costs. AND it is not enough to just stem that tide...health care costs must be driven down from their present level. Today it takes 3.9 workers to cover the costs of 1 Medicare recipient...there are almost 45 million enrolled in Medicare today...in 2013 the first of the 79 million strong Baby Boom generation will be eligible.

Health care needs to be SOCIALIZED. The government should be running all of it. Google the Blood industry in this country...freely donated blood has turned into a multi-billion dollar industry. If the United States owned every resource on the globe it would not be enough to cover the health care costs of our citizens, using the present "for profit" model, 20 or 30 years from now.

Single Payer as presently proposed is not the answer. Costs MUST be driven down. Probably the best way to do that is to go back to the old business model...catastrophic coverage. Americans will hate it...but the future of health care in this country is very bleak if someone is not willing to bite the bullet.”

“The health insurance companies have been pimping off of health care professionals long enough. They need to be nationalized and their corporate mission changed to one of providing funds for health care instead of NOT providing health care. The CEOs and top management can keep their ill-gotten gains. They can even keep their jobs but their mission would no longer be to generate obscene profits for themselves at the expense of the patients. They should not be entitled to continue to exploit health care for their own greedy benefit. That is one entitlement that we can do without !””

108 years was out of whack for the crimes he was convicted of...that was 9 years ago..
