Jon Gosselin Returns To His Children
Commented Jul 29, 2009 at 12:23:35 in Entertainment
“For someone who holds such disdain for the spotlight Jon Gosselin's been getting more press than his children.
NOTE TO JON: We were on your side when you said take away the cameras. Now I wonder if you wanted the cameras taken away from your children because they got in your shot.
As a former fan of "Jon & Kate+8" . . . just go away and raise your children in privacy, with tender loving care. If you have enough money for a Manhattan love nest, and touring the French Riviera you have enough to take care of your kids.”

“If the Pitt/Jolie's don't do something to control Zahara's hair they are forging a wedge, that could become permanent, between their daughters.
Zahara's hair can be braided into beautiful braid patterns that would not require daily hair combing, while looking neat and tidy. It's not the money, it's grace for the child.
Please, someone, do Zahara's hair.”

“What a useless, divisive article. Mrs. Obama is beautiful, intelligent and lovely with a giving, compassionate heart for those who have not been as fortunate as herself. Too bad someone felt they had to play two beautiful black women against each other, especially when their husbands are all about bringing people together through politics and music.”

“Granted the question was fair. And she answered honestly.
For Hilton to call her names because he didn't like her answer says more about his unsuitability to judge the contest than her inability to represent the USA. He's out of control. Out of line.
It occurs to me these contests aren't as popular as they were in the past, and controversy stirs people's interest, but to use religion to target a young woman who's worked hard to reach her goal is wrong.”

Clarence Thomas: Americans Don't Sacrifice As Much
Commented Mar 17, 2009 at 01:19:29 in Politics
“"Americans don't sacrifice enough"? Is that what Judge Thomas really thinks? What America does he live in?
Doesn't he know about the families losing their homes and doing whatever they can to feed & shelter their children even if that means living with a relative or even in a tent city? Or families who shop at Wal-Mart or the 99cent store to make sure their children have enough to eat? Or families who no longer shop at Macy's or The Limited or the Gap, but buy clothes and shoes from Target or Goodwill. Let's not even go into health & dental care, which is non-existent. Americans have learned to sacrifice without appearing desperate, we just adjust our way of living. Maybe that's why Judge Thomas doesn't know that for some Americans sacrifice is a way of life.”

This is precisely why these three men make the big bucks. Just when you thought nighttime TV was mundane, you get treated to a gem like this one. TOOTOOTOO funny. Thanks for the clip.”

Yikes! Controversial New Yorker Cover Shows Muslim, Flag-Burning, Osama-Loving, Fist-Bumping Obama
Commented Jul 14, 2008 at 19:24:53 in Media
“The Obama cover on The New Yorker (July 21, 2008) is completely insulting. Poor judgment. Bad taste.
The argument that readers of The New Yorker are not swing voters, they've already made up their minds, is ludicrous and faulty. What about all the copies that will sit on bookstore shelves, magazine racks, library turnstiles and doctor's office coffee tables. Most of which will not be picked up and read, but that unflattering image will be seared into the unconscious of so many voters minds.
It will be interesting to see if The New Yorker enjoys increased circulation or falls into obscurity after this shameful display of racism.”

Oscar's New Rule: Two Songs Per Picture
Commented Jun 21, 2008 at 16:50:46 in Entertainment
“When Henry Mancini and Leonard Bernstein were composing for film, if Burt Bacharach or John Williams are up for contention, three songs from one movie is fine. But when year after year Disney songs from animated, or partially animated features, are up for song of the year it's way too much. To me, How Will He Know sounds just like Under The Sea and Be Our Guest.
Loved Once and was thrilled to see Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard win the Oscar. Bravo to John Stewart for bringing Marketa back to deliver her acceptance speech when the orchestra signaled time up.”

“I had never even heard the song "Falling Slowly" until the oscar broadcast, and when they performed, I got chills. The song was easily the best and I promptly went to iTunes and got a copy. With "Enchanted" taking 3 of the 5 spots, I now have to wonder about some other fantastic, obscure little tune that I probably missed because of the Disney-brand muscling their way into most of the nominations. The academy made a smart decision.”

It was very refreshing to see the Academy actually get something right for a change and snub Disney's ubiquitous music for something with some true musical merit.”
