More and More, Obama Seems a Faux Liberal

Commented Dec 20, 2009 at 20:29:03 in Politics

“If anyone thought Obama was a liberal, they spent too much time listening to John McCain, and not enough looking at Obama's actions.”

A Rebuttal to Howard Dean: I Am a U.S. Senator, and I Will Vote For This Bill

Commented Dec 20, 2009 at 04:23:26 in Politics

“Yeah. I mean, look at the huge payday the Republicans gave to Big Pharma with their Medicaid "reform" a few years ago.

All Republicans do is squander America's money. When Dems prove themselves no better, it's always going to benefit Republicans, who sold their soul to special interests. Nobody gets disappointed when Republicans act like shills, because we expect it.”

A Rebuttal to Howard Dean: I Am a U.S. Senator, and I Will Vote For This Bill

Commented Dec 19, 2009 at 19:21:38 in Politics

“Speaking as a member of Real America, the kind of "real reform" we were looking for would look more like Medicare, instead of the long, slow, and loving handjob to the insurance industry it currently looks like.”

cbat replied on Dec 19, 2009 at 19:31:44

“Remember Republicans voted against Medicare and argued on the same issues. Medicare had its problems in the beginning but were fixed down the line, I hopeful the same thing will happen with this bill.”

Left/Right Populist Outrage Will Defeat Senate Health Care Bill

Commented Dec 18, 2009 at 20:44:09 in Politics

“Innuendo? I thought I was quite clear and unabiguous. Astroturf isn't grass roots. A corporately sponsored and organized event isn't spontaneous, or populism.

Does this make sense? Do you comprehend English spoken above the third grade level?”

Senator Lieberman: The Joe I Know

Commented Dec 18, 2009 at 19:20:33 in Politics

“"But here's a prediction: there will come a time in the next year or two when Joe Lieberman will take a stubborn and principled stand in defense of a great progressive cause."

Care to bet on that?

The Lieberman America knows is as right wing, or more, than even Glenn Beck.”

Left/Right Populist Outrage Will Defeat Senate Health Care Bill

Commented Dec 18, 2009 at 17:38:07 in Politics

“Calling the corporate sponsored... thing... that Teabaggers are doing kind of corrupts the meaning of the term "populism", doesn't it?

You can't really look at astroturf and call it grass roots activism.”

President Obama Should Negotiate with the Taliban

Commented Dec 14, 2009 at 21:04:10 in World

“Obama negotiating with the Taliban would be political suicide. Not to mention, there's no reason for the leader of our country to talk to such some tiny insurgent group, who is focused on a country which ISN'T America, and is half the world away.

I say we give the Afghanistan government their country back, and if they want to negotiate with the Taliban, let them knock themselves out.”

Commented Dec 14, 2009 at 20:45:46 in Politics

The Goracle -- Al Gore, the Internet and the Future of American Politics

Commented Dec 14, 2009 at 19:53:38 in Technology

Therefore, my compromise solution. They get the tax savings for the rest of their lives in exchange for them stopping breathing. It's a win-win of perfect harmonious bi-partisanship perfection!”

“jsgaerano,
looks like your other post was deleted. (I guess threatening arson is frowned upon). Looking over some of your posts it's clear you are pretty closed minded and really don't care, but I'm a stand up guy and I'll give you what specifics I recall.
I have always liked the current mayor of Mobile AL and this meeting was as he was starting his 1st run for mayor. I drove down to Mobile to offer support. Toward the end they asked people to join with a pledge. It was my first and last visit w/ them, so I don't know if it is standard opp. procedure. Maybe there's somebody here who can verify.
Good luck with your anger issues, I'm sure there are professionals in your area who can help.”

Commented Dec 14, 2009 at 18:55:28 in Media

“You miss the point. All these wars conservatives get America into are simply learning experiences for how to suppress a population. Just like the meddling conservatives did in undermining and overthrowing democracies around the world, it's simply trial runs for what they intend to do in America.

Today it's Blackwater running "dissapearance" squads in foreign countries, tomorrow they're doing it in America. Today Blackwater is monitoring Iraq and Afghanistan with Predator drones, tomorrow they are doing it in America. THAT'S the plan.”

Infostream replied on Dec 15, 2009 at 19:06:46

“I guess you missed it but we had an election and the guy currently escalating the war is supposed to be a liberal. You miss the point with this ridiculous partisan "us and them" thinking, we have a democratic super-majority and currently 97% of policy is an active expansion of Bush II's, but I guess you probably think pro-wrestling is real too.”
