“I thought that was "repealed," unoffically that is , by the "coming out" campaign?
If a person is "gay" does he or she have the right to their privacy? Or do you feel that anyone who is "gay" secretly must come out or risk being labeled as spinless and unpatriotic to the "gay" league?”

Upset with AIG? How About Your Bailout Funds Supporting Tiger Woods and Europe's Soccer Stars?
Commented Mar 17, 2009 at 16:21:18 in Business
“i was wondering people were going to start complaining about AIG sponsoring Manchester United. it's not like this is a sudden thing they've been doing. on one hand, maybe they shouldn't be sponsoring them. on the other hand, by sponsoring Manchester United they are sponsoring probably the most famous soccer team in the world and it's great visibility for them to advertise and get a faster return on the American taxpayer's investment. i'm kinda split on this.”

“that's not what i said is it? keep the points relevant to the discussion at hand. CNBC has nothing to do with iraq. there is a very good reason only one person brought iraq in this discussion. why do you think it is? could it be b/c it isn't relevant and nobody else wants to look stupid? b/c i'm fairly certain that's it.”

“#1 purpose of the daily show isn't to make people laugh, that's just a by-product of a bigger function. and that is to keep politicos and media alike honest with their positions and reporting by forcing them to take a second look at themselves and see how silly they look. nobody does this better then jon stewart and the daily show, and we're really lucky for them, in a weird way.”
levee replied on Mar 12, 2009 at 12:51:44
“i agree. the comedy is secondary. the primary function of Jon Stewart is exposing absurdity. the only thing weird is that we have to justify this type of journalism. thousands of years of culture and we still can't grasp that humor does not nullify validity? it's only journalism if you furrow your brow? I'll take Stewart over O'Reilly or Olbermann or Mathews any day. now those guys are really funny.”

“I know, without a doubt, that you have never been to a Bruce Springsteen concert. First of all, he plays large venues like stadiums on a regular basis, and they sell out.
Second, the "Bruce Time" comment by Steve Van Zandt makes a regular appearance at the concerts.
This is America, so your opinion is appreciated. But don't act like an expert on something you have not even begun to understand or appreciate.”

“I actually have a very broad, eclectic taste in music. He just doesn't do it for me. Too many people on stage. Van Zandt doens't really sing, moreso he screams in the mic. The wife thing on stage is odd, he gives her equal show time and you can tell she is a no talent hack that got lucky marrying to him. I just don't buy it. And just b/c there are people out there that say how great he is, it's not going to change my opinion.”

Just to venture another opinion, Patti Scialfa is much more than a hack who married well. She is a very good singer and songwriter, has had three albums of her own, and I am a fan. Do not confuse her with Linda McCartney, who was a wonderful person, but certainly no songbird.”

You need some help if for no other reason than the "Too many people on stage." comment. Are you kidding? Wow. Um...that's stupid.
No. Really. It's a stupid reason to not like a band. A BAND THAT PLAYS MUSIC.
Van Zandt isn't a SINGER. He's a musician.
To help you out with the ignorant statement about Patti Springsteen: Patti SCIALFA Springsteen was an accomplished singer/songwriter WAY BEFORE she married Bruce. There. that takes care of that stupid statement about "no talent hack".
Now, you may not like Springsteen. Good for you. It's your right. But please. Do yourself a favor and don't be embarassing yourself on a comment board by talking ignorant stupidity.
If you're a kid, then your ignorance can kind of be forgiven. (It's not an excuse, though.)
If you're older, then hopefully you have the gene that makes you aware and ashamed when you do or say something silly.”
