“Exactly! For decades, people sent their children to school assuming this is normal and safe and where kids are supposed to be M-F, 8-3. Who would have thought for one second in the 1950s or 60s or 70s or 80s or 90s that sending your kids to school meant sending them to possible death?
But that doesn't mean we expect every public place to be legally covered/legislated in some way as to protect all who enter there free from all possible harm that may come to them. Ludicrous!!!
We are heading in the wrong direction here. Remember all those innocent teachers they locked up bc of the child molestation scare/epidemic in the 1980s? Irrational hysteria.
The thing to do is rid the world of assault weapons and provide more access to help for those who need it.....not to turn our schools into fortresses. And certainly not should we be holding the government responsible for not providing a more impenetrable fortress. This is insanity!”
“Actually, this practice is done in many developing countries until 4 or 5 years old bc there is not a lot of food or food choices. These cultures rely on breastfeeding to get the children over a very crucial hump to ensure survival as breastfeeding gives so much nutrition and immune protection. So it is definitely NOT ONLY IN AMERICA.
The problem is children in America are not starving. We have plenty of food and food choices so this just looks ridiculous!”
