CIA Working With Palestinian Security Agents Known For Torturing Hamas Supporters
Commented Dec 21, 2009 at 01:33:10 in World
“The whole key to CIA and NSA operations is that they work with everybody including terrorists, drug dealers, arms dealers, counterfeiters, Palestinians, Jews, Nazi sympathizers, and just about anyone or anything that can give them an information fix. The only morality is that there is no morality and good guys just can't be trusted with the need to know. Yes your future safety is in their hands.”
Feminomics: Women and Bankruptcy
Commented Dec 20, 2009 at 21:02:17 in Business
“Its all a game built on a house of cards where the winners still make the rules and must find some way to motivate and manipulate men and women to believe they can still win. Unfortunately for many people there are realities that make the winning almost impossible. This of course leads these same people to take even more chances recognizing this is the only chance they have to win. The winners can't afford for everyone to lose so they make deals to offer losers another chance. The real key is to not make any deals until the winners give up and say-- your really not worth pursuing-- so I'll just let you win.”

Nebraska Pastors Urge Nelson To Support Health Care Reform
Commented Dec 18, 2009 at 23:42:20 in Politics
“Personally I think the bill is worthless without the medicare buy in or single payer option. Many middle class Americans who have high deductibles and premiums will get nothing from this bill. Health insurance will become a mandatory regressive tax that in many cases when actually used provide the recipient with insurmountable bills and the right to a slow death in a drawn out bankruptcy.”

Strengthening the Estate Tax to Strengthen the Country
Commented Dec 18, 2009 at 01:17:34 in Politics
“From what I've read and seen the past several years the article title should be "Keeping the Estate Tax to Save the Country" To show how in denial and critically blinded a Congress can be we should realize that a number of Congressman have proposed banishing the Estate Tax altogether even though it will effect only about one percent of the people. Our children have been born with Congressmen such as these and talk show hosts that have Sworn to a newer and greedier Reagan philosophy that would pass all possessions and wealth on for eternity, whatever economic realities might prevail. It is certainly a possibility that to test these economic philosophies of zero redistribution to much might undermine the Democratic freedoms of others or worse contribute to a world where the dark side of humanity is revealed once again.

Bank Of America's Foreclosure Rescue Failure: Only 1 Out Of 1,600 Borrowers Have Received Permanent Modifications
Commented Dec 11, 2009 at 15:56:59 in Business
“There are several ironic turns and twists to what these big banks are apparently doing. For instance most people might handle the modifications if banks wrote off more consumer debt. Unfortunately its as if the Banks all sat down and came up with some formula's to assure that very few people could actually succeed at getting payment plans that will work. Why does Chase write down most of its credit card debts to one customer and none to another? Banks really haven't changed and now that they feel they can survive indefinitely, I wouldn't expect them to do anything but calculate a no lose scenario for their own and a no win scenario for their consumers. At least banks will no longer be able to offer 10000 dollar credit lines like a drive thru service knowing they could always be bailed out.”
NHGranite replied on Dec 11, 2009 at 16:08:39
“You are so right. It has been set up since Reagan's days. Let's take some bets: it's all Obama's fault for going back in time and allowing credit card interest to soar, bankruptcy laws changed to deny most middle class families and banks to get control of the full gamut of instruments to become megabanks.”
Pelosi Backs Off Public Option
Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 14:39:16 in Politics
“The idea that a Public Option is a necessity concerns itself with the problem that insurers exist for benefit the caregiver not the care receiver. Last week my son a twenty one year old college student with type one diabetes was forced by taxi to the emergency room after receiving food poisoning apparently from food from a downtown theatre. The emergency room admitted my son whose blood sugar had dropped below twenty due to vomiting. The hospital ran numerous tests, while disconnecting the insulin pump and giving him insulin via the needle. We arrived the next morning and conversed with personnel on several occasions while my son was receiving IV nutrition, but unfortunately no one was checking his blood sugar or providing him insulin. His blood sugar was 500 when it was checked about three hours after we arrived at the hospital. Was the hospital interested in running tests or preserving the patients care.
I still applaud the new plan as it does provide some additonal security for those over 55, but it may or may not eliminate waste in the health care system.”

Financial Oversight: There Is No Change (Again)

“The sheer effect of most regulation has been protecting Banking interests primarily of the to big to fail banks. Customers aren't saved from foreclosur e----Banks are saved from taking more losses. The troubling aspect is that problems through Tarp have provided a temporary fix for some consumers, which has left customers at the mercy of two great powers--the IRS and More solvent too big to fail banks. It is most evident that this type of plan does what America and Americans have been doing for quite some time which is to buy first and pay later, bail out first with a wait an see attitude. This assures only one thing that the last man standing will be he who makes the rules and holds all the cash.”

Two Common Sense Ways to Improve the Economy
Commented Dec 07, 2009 at 15:21:03 in Los Angeles
“I personally think this is a very poor economic argument. It may be true for the artists who are losing money when their ideas are stolen, but there are much bigger issues as to the devaluation of work to large corporate interests that control innovation and markets. We sacrifice the many to find the major distributable work of art, while much art is lost in the sea of possibilities that rewards but a few. Somewhere along the way the works of art of the multitudes (people) that are lost become part of the pickings of bargain shoppers and goodwill guru's, while these people are working their part time jobs to get by.”

“I find it amazing that we need this kind of hype when we can start locally and act globally. When I mention that maybe cutting down most of the large trees in state forests close to my home is reckeless and unnecessary, there is basically no opposition especially from democrats. This new Global agenda is one of the few issues I'm tempted to side with Rush Limbaugh about, especially when John Kerry or Al Gore seem to be able to spend millions to get the message out even on conservative stations. We should not be driven by fear tactics to support the apparent grab for power, that justifies economic policies and political tactics geared to control the masses.

Obama, Progressives and Afghanistan
Commented Dec 03, 2009 at 21:17:22 in Politics
“Progressives may not completely understand all the reasons why we need progressive taxation, but they know enough to see economic problems can’t be made right by military force. One thing for certain the world is small and the world wide syndicates of drug cartels and Godfathers of Arms dealers are many, all playing games and grabbing stakes in the new America, Laundered money eventually rules legitimate business through investments and their lawyers who like predators buy and sell even the respect of religious leaders who justify these perks with “I don’t knows” and “the greater good”. Small businesses have long seen the realities that control many businesses here and apparently everywhere. Madoff was a big story, but there are a lot of potential big stories that will never be told, but we’ll keep looking the other way with the rich getting richer and the wealth gap growing larger until history repeats itself once again.”
America Without a Middle Class
Commented Dec 02, 2009 at 22:50:57 in Business
“Almost everyone drank the Kool Aid from a philosophy of low taxes, borrowing and excessive hype to keep things going, even if it resulted in Class Division. The illusion of success from borrowing replaced incomes with loans for many middle class Americans used this money for the necessities like a home, car, college or medical care. The goal should be to provide competitive advantage to the middle class through a tax rate that redistributes and encourages small business. We need to regulate and demand reform from huge financial instititutions and encourage democracy while discouraging concentrated wealth through profits made through mergers that result in the loss of American jobs and productivity. America needs to battle the fear mongering of those convinced by the barage of greedmongers from the media right. Most of all we need leaders who will place their constituents first and commit to responsible public policy that integrates with the free market for the good of the hard working majority which is its middle class. Maintaining the wealthy, sustaining the poor, fighing Global warming is hardly justification for enslaving the middle class.”

“On of the very reasons for Free Press is to prevent a media mogul bent on controlling and manipulating the news from gaining the power to destroy or demise the ability of all other opinions from being heard. It is oh so apparent that technology that allows people to respond also can be monitored, hacked and stolen as is proven around the world everyday. There are numerous solutions to real infringement on copyrights etc, but they must begin with a real sense of just who the culprits are and what motivations drive them to steal. There is little doubt that Capitalism has provided a motivation to support certain opinions for the single goal of maintaining the status quo and eliminating or manipulating majority democratic opinion that threatens to take from the haves to give to the have nots be it power or money. There is "Desparation" and it is the fear of losing control over who gets to tell the truth and what truths are worth telling.”

Like the barage of consolidation of interests and power in so many areas there will be no end unless there is real change and the Globalization God is depleted or conquered. Hey is the Huffington Post for sale? Contrary to the authors opinion these deals seldom tend to increase the price to the consumer unless they are paying way to much, but instead (as monopolies do) the price is dropped and more competitors are forced out of the market only to consolidate again.

“I feel sympathy for Ron Artest's sister, but certainly Ron Artest has proven much of what is wrong with a capitalistic system driven only by greed. Ron Artest is still playing for the NBA champion Lakers while his guilt is ever evident in his own postings for the way he irresponsibly caused the Pacers Team and Franchise problems for years to come. He has been treated with kitten gloves while parading around claiming abuse from all kinds of situations which most people would certainly avoid if they were as highly paid as he is. His conduct speaks for itself and Californians should remember they are all getting just what Ron Artest is all about. I really believe his sister in that he probably hasn't given her a dime, while making over 5 mil a year for many years.”
