“There is clearly a big difference to not paying property taxes and not paying income taxes. If property taxes are not paid a lien will be placed against the property until all taxes and penalties are paid. Governments do quite well on these tax avoidances An income tax requires the person to disclose the income and therefore may go unpaid if undisclosed. Clearly a difference in motive-- One being deception the other being ineptitude ---

It may be the cheapest time to travel, but economic guru's all seem to be saying the same thing, don't spend money on vacations and to those of you who've been able to depend on plastic cards-- hope things are getting better, but please tell us "What can we do for you?" Thinking "Is it really possible its that bad out there?"”

“Smaller community banks are in better positions to make loans because they did not partake in as much unscrupulous lending. Congress and President Bush changed the bankruptcy laws effective early 2006 because they could not or did not want to face the realities of a necessary slowdown. They along with the fed encouraged further interest rate reduction, over valuation of homes. Had they continued under the old bankruptcy law more people would have stayed in their homes and credit markets would have been forced to correct sooner.

Better regulation and responsible action instead of greed, quick profits and trying to pass the buck to the weakest links is exactly why the correct actions now are to place all things in perspective with the help of local government and appraisers.”

There is one small difference in that the homeowner has new bankruptcy legislation which requires them to make payments on a good portion of debt and put up their personal assets to remain in the home. It is quite feasible that Sam Zell and company will go bankrupt, buy some of these same insolvent newspaper assets in foreclosure at a reduced price under a new name called the New Chicago Tribune (Thanks to the fools who financed us.)”
