“Then you have to make it clear that you will not put up with being treated badly and will leave him no matter how great you think he is.

BTW, why would you continue to think he is awesome if he treats you badly? Seems to me a guy's awesomeness should correlate with the way he treats you.”

“Do you know the leaders and decision-makers in the Democratic party? Because those are the liberal elites discussed in the article, not the liberals in the general populace.”

“As a former campaign organizer, Mr. Elk is in a position to know.”

Rmath replied on Nov 12, 2009 at 20:12:31

“Dividing voter groups into evil "elite Ivy Leaguers" and virtuous "non-elite working people" may make some feel better about themselves or superior in some way, but it's not what I'd call a Big Tent electoral strategy.

Sarah Palin went to New York to organize the campaign for the 23rd Congressional District seat. She and other conservatives were on a mission to purify the repub party by purging a segment of the party she didn't like. Look what happened.”

Liberal Elitism Will Make Sarah Palin President - How Only Union Organizing Can Stop It

Commented Nov 12, 2009 at 19:41:34 in Politics

“Well, the article defines a liberal elite as those in positions of power among the Democratic party who think they understand working class life and people despite the fact that they have never lived or known anyone who has, even remotely, lived such a life.”

hardlyhikin replied on Nov 12, 2009 at 21:09:21

“Okay...
Then are there "conservative elites"? Because if you exchanged the words "liberal" and "Democratic" with "conservative" and "Republican" the definition would be every bit as accurate.

As far as I can see, the only difference is that the conservative elite has successfully managed to make working class people believe that they (conservative elites) have their (working class people) best interests in mind when time after time they've done nothing but screw over all of us.”

wanda665 replied on Nov 12, 2009 at 21:02:47

“Does anyone actually think the Bush family understand working class life?”

“Define flat broke. Do you mean they don't have houses on the coasts or take lots of vacations? Because working class flat broke means you have to wait until payday to buy groceries and are eating ramen noodles for the next three days.”

Naw, Obama was right, right on point--and that's what pissed them off, because this exotic guy told them about themselves w/out the spin and the hoopla. Just straight talk.”

“What did Bush get accomplished during his second term? As I recall, his move to privatize Social Security, thankfully, failed miserably. Swagger is not really how long term changes occur. Take it from the daughter of an old dirt-track racer, even in NASCAR, slow and steady wins the race.”
