“Why do some people care if others jump on a fad or not? That is sad”

“One reason for concern (care) is that the same people who, mindlessly and without understanding, jump onto fads give a pseudo-legitimacy to what they're doing and can cause others to also jump on the bandwagon. There are many fad that can be detrimental in the time before it fades... eCigarettes are a case-in-point.
Another problem is the tendency for a fad to encourage over-saturation of our society in regard to whatever the fad is based on. After the fad fades, legitimate aspects of the fad will likely disappear, too. The current rush to label foods as "gluten free" in the attempt to sell more of the product could easily cause the loss of any such labeling once this fad ends and the next "new thing" gains popularity. Where does that leave the people who actually do have Celiac Disease or gluten-sensitivity?
Just like the latest social issue that becomes the media's baby. After the flash-in-the-pan over-exposure, it disappears from social awareness because people feel it has been dealt with already... even when it is still a major problem.”
“How is it disgusting? The CIA is out of control!! They are also now lying. Don't be distracted by the drama. She is correct.”

“Open your eyes. If it's good enough for the rest of us, it's good enough for congress too. They're not gods among men, in fact, I wouldn't allow any of them in my house, so they are in fact no better than that drunk that lives down the block from me.”

“How is it disgusting? It is disgusting because while these senators were just fine with the general public being spied on they are upset that they too were being spied on.”
“He did not support Bin Laden. He questioned "What kind of a person celebrates death? The celebration was what he questioned. He also wondered how we blindly believe what we are told. Both good questions.”

“Yes, I know. Most Steelers fans don't care. He fumbled in the Super Bowl, ergo he is a supporter of bin Laden.”
