“China is definitely the new frontier. They are educated, intelligent, and curious about the world. Beijing built a whole subway system in less time than New York has had time to figure out what to build in Ground Zero. They are making electric cars while we sit home and watch Hannity and chant "drill baby drill." Our nation is a relic, an internationally shared opinion outside the US, if people ever traveled they'd figure this out. Instead of congratulating the Chinese, too many of us resort to xenophobic and racist comments, downplaying the great accomplishments of a great nation and people. That is the sign of a sad, desperate nation who knows its time is up.”

“Turkey is 99% Muslim, a democracy, and in most regards a first-world country, one that is embracing new ideas and has a growing economy, which are two things lacking in this country. Indonesia, after years of dictatorship, is also a democracy and raising literacy rates. Many other Muslim nations have different views on the roles of women (some allow them to drive and vote, others don't), economic and political systems. While some stone and torture women, most don't. Claiming that no Muslim country is a democracy shows ignorance and evidence of angry right-wing talking points taking over your life.”

I guess if your life revolves around family reunions, church, teabagging rallies and Wal-Mart, I suppose how you could see these conservative women are beautiful in comparison. If you want to see stunning ladies, I suggest visiting or living in Moscow, St. Petersburg, most of Europe, even east Asia. Those women, without question, are smart, beautiful, kind, fashion-conscious, thin, and care about their weight and appearance. As opposed to some of the red-state Real American women that look like elephants in spandex.”

And while other, smarter countries like Brazil use sugar-based ethanol to power their cars instead of spending billions on wars over imported oil, we can't conceive that better sources of energy exist. As for abortion, be prepared for more poverty, crime, and delinquency (not that you will care) as you demand poor minority strangers bear children against their will. What a great future!”

“It's legal in most countries between 16-18. South Koreans wait until 19. Only the US and Pakistan make you wait until 21, and I've never understood why Americans so distrust the young people. Maybe it has to do with greater freedoms of driving, but the prohibitions have led to serious social and health problems among college students.”

Too many Americans believe that if you have Trippi on one side and Coulter on the other, you somehow get a "balance." How is this possible when all you hear are sarcastic, argumentative and combative children "discussing" the news, smiling inanely (god I hate those smiles), with lots of canned talking points and cliches and a few derogatory political labels thrown in for good measure. It's a fight, a verbal assault, and the overweight slobs glued to their TVs for six hours a night can't get enough. And it's true they can't--because of the bantering and shouting, there's less information delieverd in a day on Fox than in 15 minutes on Jim Lehrer. That, besides Stewart, are the only places to turn for news. No wonder foreigners know more about American current events than we do.”

“She has a show on Fox news that is supposed to take away the unpleasant aftertaste of Hannity, but it's the same discourteous guests and blowhard columnists that are routine for Fox. When she worked for CNN her jaw was jutting the opposite direction.”
