“Did you even read the article? Sales associates admit they profile black customers. Race has everything to do with it.”

“Did you read my comment? I said that this wasn't JUST about race, but also about class. Speaking from my experience and the experience of my friends, white people that aren't dressed to their expectations are treated like crap too.”
“The only mainstream mayoral candidate who said they would get rid of stop and frisk was John Liu. The rest of them were very clear that they want to keep the existing policy just tweak it. So I predict the policy will remain and the NYPigD willl continue to harass young black men freely without any real reprecussions. The neo-liberal establishment in this city is horrendous.”

“This is a fair assessment. Stop and frisk is here to stay regardless of whether Lhota or De Blasio get elected. The only difference being that De Blasio will make some much publicized tweaks that may end up not making much of a difference in how its applied. I certainly think De Blasio knows the scrutiny he is under in regard to this issue. He's getting elected partially on what he has said about reforming the police department, but he also can't allow crime to rise past the point where one can cover it up with cooked statistics.”

“Yes because the young black men killing other young black men is okay . it's far more important to play to the gallery.
I support stop, question and possibly frisk. I also support the usage of it being regularly monitored and reviewed by a panel. The fact is that most violent crime in the NYC are is committed by young black men so of course there's going to be more stops of them.

“How do you know that other companies would have equal or worse negative aspects of their business practices? There are other social responsible companies he can partnership with besides one that shows overt racism to its black client ele.”

“Even if companies werent knocking down his door to work with him there are other means for jay-z to raise revenue for his charity. You act as if Barney's is his last vestige of financial hope”

“My point is that YOU made a comment that suggested you knew more about the process than you actually did, so that is why I wanted to know what you were basing your comments on. Now I know you don't have any clue as to how philanthropy works.
But, to answer your question No, I don't think that Barny's is the only company that can contribute to the SCF, but I am pretty sure that other companies with equal capital, willingness and resources will probably have equal or worse negative aspects to their business practices. ”

“Certainly. But a man of Jay- z fame and stature can can collaborate with a bevy of other retailers who don't engage in retail apartheid. Maintaining the status quo to fill your charity coffers is inexplicable.”

“What are you basing this on? How do you know that he has philanthropers knocking down his door? You made a number of affirmative statements and I'd like to know what you are basing your comments on.”

“Im not surprised by these revelations. How much more info does jay-z need? Just reading the yelp reviews of this store, hundreds of patrons have similar complaints of being unfairly maligned due to their complexion. Its also important to note that Barney's is a sponsor of the rush limbaugh show as well as supporting other right wing causes nationwide. Civil rights groups need to come together and start a massive boycott of this store and anybody who has ties to this jim crow-run establishment.”

“Barney's is partnering with him on internships for minorities, scholarships for poor kids who can't afford college and other civic projects. That is a lot to give up before you know all of the facts.”
