“Really, this is not about you! This is about a kidnapping with guns and a baby that was ripped out of his mother's arms. Grow a heart you Grinch!”

“YES, this is about HER and EVERYONE else! You need to wake up and realize what exactly is going on, unless you are one that lives off what hardworking people pay taxes into!
OH, and FYI---the baby IS a GIRL!”

“If you need to lie to keep a man then you need to leave him. A relationship is as much about you as it is about him. I say this because the girl down the street told her boyfriend she was preggers. He quit school, got a job, created a room for the baby. Then she told him she miscarried, but the truth is she was never preggers to begin with and he cried for days because he lost his "son". When do people begin to understand that there are consequences??”

“This is cool, so when is it? I would love to not only watch the movie, but also hear the author's insight into the characters.. This could be a good way to get kids to read. I'm lovin' this idea.”

“Should we seal off the air and put a plastic bubble around us? Close off our ports? Build a huge wall aorund the ocean? Go to the Candadian frontier and build a wall over there too? How are we going to keep all the illegals out of our country? A plastic bubble sounds good maybe notfor the environment, but everyone will be kept out. We an all have ids and every time we go someplace we have to flash them to prove we are Americans. What do you think of that idea?”

“Wow, th influx must stop? I don't see anyone stopping the Irish one of the highest undocumented in our nation or the Asians that come through Canada and stay. I don't see anyone stopping the British or any other natioanlity that comes and finds comfort in our country. Yet, the Latino is he bad guy. We do it all, right? Well, when you start stopping all of them then I will take notice. Until then I won't hold my breath because I wiould die.”

“The United States deports hundreds to Canada, Ireland and Europe each year. There are an estimated 2,500 to 3,000 illegal Irish in the U.S., with the majority coming from Fermanagh and Tyrone. Illegal immigration wouldn't be an issue if there were ony 3,000 undocumented Mexicans in the U.S.

“...the subject of the artical was "Latino Republican's"...no mention of other nationalities. However, since you mention it, I agree, the laws should apply to all nationalities equally.”

“Let's begin by EDUCATING you. We are a RACE and an ETHNICITY! Hey we can be both because in Western America people travel back and forth so we are not distinguished by physcial characteristics, but by geography and common heritage such as language and culture. So, being Latino maybe a Heinz 57, but to us it the Spanish influence that weaves from North America, the Caribbean and Soutth America. We are Latino and your ignorance is not going to change that fact.”

“Re: Let's begin by EDUCATING you. We are a RACE and an ETHNICITY!

.........................................................................................................................

According to leading authorities contrary to many beliefs, Hispanic is not a race, as the Chilean Nobel Prize Gabriela Mistral once said, "mi patria es mi lengua" (My fatherland is my language). Latino, from American Spanish, is used in some cases as an abbreviation for latino americano or "Latin American" and tends to be used interchangeably with Hispanic in the United States. In other Hispanophone countries, Hispanic and Latino are not commonly used. The term "Latin America" (considered by some obsolete) was used for the first time in the nineteenth century when the French occupied Mexico (1862–1867), leading to the Second Mexican Empire, and wanted to be included in what was considered Spanish America.”

BlairCase on Nov 28, 2011 at 10:53:37

“Your ignorance is astonishing. Latino/Hispanic is not a racial category. It's an ethnic group. Hispanics/Latinos can be of any race.. Spanish speakers and persons belonging to a household where Spanish is spoken, persons with Spanish heritage by birth location, and persons who self-identify with Spanish ancestry or descent qualify as Hispanic or Latino. It has nothing to do with race or skin color. Cameron Diaz is a Latino.”

“Your right, but the perception is that the illegals are just domestic workers. This still doesn't change the fact that they are working for slave wages and suffer untold abuses as they search for thier place in America.”

“You are so wrong! Those that are here illegally fight a harder more defned fight that those that have legal citizenship. They work longer, harder, and suffer more like a slave than a human being for this country. They put food on our tables, clean our homes, take care of our children, and still clean office buildings or cut a lawn. All of this so their children can achieve their own American dream. It is here where you see the true immigrant experience right in your face. This is not about immmigration this is about being Latino in America. There is no definition, but if you sit back and say Latino to gringos who are "red necks" they will always be the illegals who pick, fix, and clean while truimphing over adveristy every day of the week.”

“In my state they work construction, subcontract for state and local govt. Work for large utility companies etc. They are not just domestic workers.”

“We can never go home. Once you live in America you see the world differently or maybe you change and adapt to this new place. My friend always said, you can spot an American by their walk. They have this way of looking at everything all at once, but they always walk with their head held high. We are Latinos, but we end up becomiing Americans. I will visit my country one day, but I can't live there, because I am use to standing up and speaking my mind and accepting other people's point of view. I am American, but I have the culture and heritage of a Latino. Yet, I will have an American mind set for the rest of my life.”
