Tiger Woods, why he might have done it?
Commented Dec 04, 2009 at 07:30:40 in Living
“Thanks for the analytical article placing Tiger's behavior in some context. i don't think it is voyeuristic to try to learn from the behavior of high profile people. They have the same problems as average people but play them out on a big stage. I hope that Tiger is open to learning more about himself and can change for his own good and his family's good.”

Tiger Woods Needs to Tell a Hero's Tale
Commented Dec 01, 2009 at 21:51:21 in Sports
“Who knows what Tiger might have done, or not, leading up to the the public incident? It is probably not coincidental that he was in the tabloids leading into the holiday. He just has to consider how he wants his wife and kids to look at him and act accordingly. Whatever his attitude has been, it is fact that blowing off a wife's concerns can make her overreact. So have your running shoes on, if you are going to do that.”
Matthew Hoh Speaks Grim Truth To Power
Commented Nov 29, 2009 at 21:42:13 in World
“i thank Matthew Hoh for having the courage to put his career and reputation on the line to attempt to save us from the making even more mistakes in Afghanistan. He had no guarantee that he would succeed just as Obama has no guarantee that he will succeed by ignoring Hoh. I think Hoh is correct on the major points that he makes in his writing and interviews. Quarreling with details of history does not disprove the continuing tragedy of US involvement in Afghanistan. We will eventually leave with more egg on our faces and much more American and Afghan blood spilled for nothing.”
Why Wall Street Reform is Stuck in Reverse
Commented Oct 22, 2009 at 19:29:41 in Politics
“There is no penalty for stealing if you are a wall streeter. It is part of the daily drum. Congress is so on the take so they don't have to get real jobs and perhaps suffer like real people. They don't want to be on the really short end of the inequality thing. I was in favor of the bailout believing the story that suffering by the lower classes would be worse without it. But we have accomplished nothing for reform, so I am for the next crash to take down the whole economy.”
Is CNBC Pimping for State Street Bank?
Commented Oct 22, 2009 at 19:23:29 in Business
“AG Brown, Thanks for looking out for the pensioners. The banks are so dirty that they no longer know or care what is legal or not. They have been given a license to steal by the Congress, past and current president, and the so-called regulators. Please continue to go after them. If you can get some of them locked up, that would be great.”
Waking Up To the Coming Battle Over the Census
Commented Sep 24, 2009 at 16:10:02 in Politics
“We need the Attorney General to speak up immediately that this crime will be solved and punished absolutely. He needs to define what charges are possible against people agitating against the census and threatening census workers. We are at least a half savage nation at this point.”
Racism, John McCain and Other Republicans

Racism, John McCain and Other Republicans
Commented Sep 18, 2009 at 19:20:31 in Politics
“I continue to be amazed that so many commentators on TV (can anyone stand to watch Morning Joe?) and others still do not recognize the heavy racial content of the opposition to the President and his policies. Am I reliving the 50's ? 60's? 70's?”
Juanx replied on Sep 18, 2009 at 22:07:56
“I once regarded Republicans as cultivated, educated, civil. and moneyed. What happened to that group? Did the birthers eat'em as crumpets and the tea party just sipped along. Did they become what they are today [imploded] after Hannity joined their ranks? Hannity talks about the the way things were everyday...in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.”

Why My Comparing Obama to Felix the Cat Is Not Racist

I take umbrage at the "lucky" part, not the "black" part. Obama is SMART in case you have not noticed. I don't always agree with his decisions and appointments, but he undoubtedly knows more than I do, or you do. So please use a smart and black analogy..”

NBC's Today Focuses on Obama's Remarks About the Gates Arrest, Not Health Care
Commented Jul 23, 2009 at 16:40:29 in Home
“I am an Obama supporter but I thought he erred in his answer about the Gates arrest. If he did not want the press to spend time on his response, he should have made a thoughtful, moderate response. He could have been supportive of Gates without saying the police acted stupidly. Neither side chose to defuse the situation. Gates didn't deserve arrest and moderation on both sides would have avoided it.”
herdlr replied on Jul 23, 2009 at 17:13:57
“If he didn't respond to the question he would have been accused of evading the question.”
Louee replied on Jul 23, 2009 at 17:13:51

Lobbyists on a Roll: Gutting Reform on Banking, Energy, and Health Care
Commented Jun 25, 2009 at 18:26:32 in Politics
“Congress is utterly corrupt. They will do nothing of high value on the health front. Obama is not making it happen either. People without good insurance are going to have march on DC to get it, if they can walk and stand all day. I'll have good insurance and am in no danger of losing it, but I will be happy to join the mob. Voting in elections is not going to get us there. There are not enough sane, principled candidates to vote for. We are never going to get to universal care with a public option with our political system.”
Neda's Martyrdom and the Pitfalls of Obama's Chronic Pragmatism
Commented Jun 22, 2009 at 17:50:49 in Politics
“I'll go along with wishing for a stronger campaign for economic justice domestically and universal single payer health care. But it takes a real chickenhawk to want Obama to take a threatening tone with Iran. I believe that the vast majority of Iranians want moral support from the U.S.A. but they do not want their country destroyed like we have destroyed Iraq.”
Leonard Williams replied on Jun 22, 2009 at 21:08:02
“I agree with President Obama regarding his stance of restraint in the Iranian crisis. Anything that can be seen as meddlin in Iranian affairs would be detrimental to the protestors. As far as a vast majority of Iranian people are concerned, America is considered to be The "Great Satan." These sentiments are felt by a majority of Middle East Muslims, and was fueled by 8 years of Bush/Cheney kick ass policy. We have a new president with a new vision and better understanding of the people and their culture. It appears that the vast majority of the American people are willing to go along with President Obama's policy of restraint. This is a new idea by a new administation. Just think, if this had happened during the Bush/Cheney watch, the rhetoric would have been deafening by now. The Iranian Government would be using the protestors as shooting targets, and there would be a national sanctioning to stop the protestors, "by any means."”
I Stand With Lt. Dan Choi, It's Time To Repeal DADT
Commented Jun 18, 2009 at 18:22:36 in New York
“Lt Choi and all gays and lesbians should be judged on the quality of their work and their deportment, like any other miltary person. How do we convince enough of the military brass that they are being stupid and are hurting their mission by booting some of their most talented and dedicated people? Barack is not going to lead on this. We need another champion so we stop hurting individuals and the mission.”
ASU Stiffs Obama, Claims Too Inexperienced For Honorary Degree
Commented Apr 09, 2009 at 17:42:07 in Politics

A Disturbing D.C. Whodunit [Update II]
Commented Mar 19, 2009 at 17:34:45 in Politics
“Our political parties, congress, the presidency have been utterly corrupt for a long time. And disappointingly, continue to be. No politicians need call me for my meager contributions or door knocking for at least two cycles. I did not help elect Obama and other Democrats for this kind of stinking deal.”
Tedbraun replied on Mar 19, 2009 at 18:32:29
“The problem is not the contracts. That is a no brainer. The problem is that Summers, Obama and Geitner knew this was coming, and aided it, with their stimulus package. Forget the contracts. Forget the lawsuits. Focus on the facts that at least three of our leaders, Barack Obama, Larry Summers, and Tim Geitner knew all about this when they gave the money to AIG. We now have to watch as Obama pretends he did not know, and now he is incensed.
The issue is not the contracts. The issue is not the legality after the fact. Past policies of these three vultures means that we only face the same. This is their pattern, before this past election and will continue. Will we just sit around and let it happen and pretend that we don't know they knew all about it ahead of time.”

Obama and his cabal of bankers (meet the new bosses, same as the old bosses) will be dragged kicking and screaming into the 'change we the people demand'. Our only enemy at this point is distraction and boredom.”

The Republican Bipartisan Myth
Commented Feb 16, 2009 at 16:28:13 in Politics
“President Obama should continue to trust his instincts which have been spot on. Reach out but it is just as well that only the 3 Republican "moderate" senators play ball. As long as his programs are well founded and , hopefully , work, President Obama will accomplish many important things in 8 years. And the working class will be better off than they have been for a long time. I grew up in a working class union household, and we were never in danger of disaster as households are today and there was never a question whether my brother and I would go to college.”
Howard Dean for HHS or Health Czar
Commented Feb 04, 2009 at 22:23:01 in Politics
“It sucks that the Obama team can't admit the great job that Howard Dean did, and that Obama benefited greatly from Dean's work. Dean has earned respect and should be offered a high level job. There is no one that I would trust more to deliver an affordable health plan to the millions of uncovered Americans. I think Daschle and anyone else like him will fold and produce something ineffective or unaffordable or both. But boys will be boys and the ones in the WH seem to have their panties in a twist over Howard Dean.”
Stimulus Package: If You Jump Halfway Across a Chasm You Fall Into the Abyss
Commented Feb 03, 2009 at 17:46:26 in Politics
“I agree with Arianna. My disappointment is that Obama seems to be listening to the same "talent" that got us into the mess and those who did not listen to the alarm bells along the way. I would like some evidence that Obama is listening to the guys who saw it coming. If Obama is buying into the canard that no one saw this coming, then he is wrong. The guys who got us in trouble cannot get us out of trouble. I am not sorry that I voted for Obama but I do not think he is on the right track to shorten the recession or depression.”

Aren't we getiing a litle ahead of ourselves ? Im willing to give him some time.
