Obama's Iraq War Defense Met With Surprise

Obama's Iraq War Defense Met With Surprise

“The press is trying to remain relevant. If it can stir up the public it will keep its focus. You're right. He didn't defend the invasion of Iraq but to the press anything positive said about it means defense of it. As he stated we didn't try to annex their territory. We left them to themselves. Companies with an interest in getting its natural resources don't like that,”

“We live debt free. A bout with credit card debt to the tune of $45,000.00 cured me. It took me a few years to retire it but retire it but retire it I did. Bottom line? Don't spend what you don't have. Bank credit card debt is a big culprit here. The elephant in the room is called interest which is like stepping into a tub of acid. Will Rogers once said he never met a man he didn't like. I wonder if he ever met a banker.”

Aissatou Sunjata on Jun 3, 2014 at 01:23:32

“What about those who had a job, which afforded them to afford credit cards, but have found themselves now unemployed? How about that great recession of 2008? How about the pruning of the baby boomers? There are far too many people playing self-righteous and forgetting, in the real world, there are people homeless, jobless, underemployed, still unemployed and yet to recover, some of them have more education, more experience than many who seem to have quick and easy and righteous answers which may not apply to other folks who possess the same values and morals, but realize porta toilets don't contain money so they can make no valuable deposits! “The people blaming the president are not the president. He seems to have followed protocol in doing what he did. As to not bargaining with terrorists is that law? If it is and he violated it then he should face the law. If not then it's a big slew of opinions and personal feelings. Just my take on it.”

RiverCitySlicker on Jun 1, 2014 at 00:53:58

“Let's be honest. Does anyone believe for one moment that if Obama had NOT made the exchange and/or had waited 30 days for the exchange to happen and it had gotten screwed up somehow, that these SAME people who're criticizing Obama now would be attacking him for not taking action and making the exchange when he had the chance??”

IamfromTexas on Jun 1, 2014 at 00:50:47

“The law says he must notify congress 30 days before moving someone at Gitmo. He signed it but disagreed with it so he broke the law. That part is fact.

Negotiating with terrorists is dangerous. Now they know that they can trade our people for theirs. something that we have not done in the past.

Now they will want to capture our troops. There is now profit in capture that there was not in the past.”

“The hatred is all about the current occupant of the White House. He beat them twice in two elections. He is urbane, intelligent, witty at times, and of calm demeanor. By no means is he without his flaws and he has made his share of mistakes as has those who came before him. He is not a John Wayne in pen stripes cowboy type ready to go to war at the drop of a hat. Besides this they face two ethnic groups of voters whom they have openly disparaged. They also face the task of what to do with tens of millions of illegal immigrants many of whom are associated with one of the aforementioned ethnic group. Many in their group in years past have enjoyed power, privilege, position, and prestige much of what they see as slowly eroding. The result is a surge of anger and it is real. They want the White House. If they lose it again look for a split in their ranks. Senate and house positions are state and local pulpits. The presidency is a world pulpit. No foreign head of state comes here to see a senator or representative. Just my thoughts.”

“So Obama goes on TV and says he is responsible for everything he is accused of by his opponents. Then what? He then further states he is ready to be impeached if any of these offenses are impeachable. They take their iota of the aggregate total of their mental capacity, impeach him, and set a trial date. But wait. The Constitution says it takes two-thirds of those present to convict him.
U.S.. CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE I, Section 3. They won't even have a two-thirds majority if they win the senate come November. They would if the Democrats joined them to make it so. The chances of that happening makes odds for winning the lottery the same as flying to Mars in ten minutes. There is no other political scene on this earth like ours. “Snowden is in a hole and should quit digging immediately. I'd wager the Department of state and NSA would love to know what he actually did and would cut a deal with him to find out. This can't be done with the media in the media. The media, which years ago wanted to get to the truth, today is concerned only with its survival and will do almost anything to ensure it. The public, which only knows what it's told, then turns into so many experts. Diplomacy has its strong suit and this case is a good example. He should be quiet and start dealing with those whom he will have to more than likely deal with in the future. How this dealing goes is up to him.”
