“I bought a Portable Photograph To Digital Picture Converter from Hammacher Schlemmer for 119.00. It's supposed to scan photos into digital format. It's basically a small scanner except it doesn't need a computer, you can just stick your memory card in there and save the jpegs. It looks simple enough to use.

I also purchased "Clocky," the clock that runs away, because my son likes to hit the snooze button way too much. Clocky gives you one chance to snooze and if you don't get up, it's supposed to jump off your nightstand using the wheels built on to it and roll around the room to hide - all while the alarm is still going off! This should be hilarious for me to see in action! My son, not so much. Nordstrom was the most reputable site that I could find with the least expensive price of 44.00.”

He is making fun of the Politico article that claims that "a 'debate' has been 'sparked' over the 'new [White House] pool rotation.'­" Also, in case you missed it in your first read, Jason did in fact identify and quote at least one of the WH press corps reporters mentioned in the Politico article, i.e., Peter Baker of the NY Times.

In case you didn't know, President Obama did not grant General McChrystal's request for 44,000 troops. He also rejected the initial strategy that General McChrystal put before him.

So, it's tough to to make sense of your assertion that the President is "intimidated by and unable to contradict or dispute, those military officers..­." Unlike Bush, this President did not accede power to the Generals. He took the time to deliberate and decided the strategy he believed was best to go forward with. Sorry if you don't like the facts, but they are what they are.

But, since you clearly have access to the Internet, you knew these facts already. Sadly, like David, you ignored the facts so that you could draw the narrative you wanted.”

Surely you know that General McChrystal, the man who is leading the efforts in Afghanistan, requested about 44,000 troops - not 600,000 (which isn't 1/4) . Does the General count as one of the "U.S. Army experts who[m the President] relies on to" "know[] more about the numbers needed to run a counterinsurgency?"

Surely you know that Gen. McChrystal's troop request was for the expanded counterinsurgency campaign that he has proposed in Afghanistan.

I know you had to have heard the General on 60 minutes say that his troop request reflected his “best assessment” of what he needs.

Certainly you read the article here that included Gen. McChrystal's statement on President Obama's Afghanistan decision. In case you didn't he said, in part: "the President has provided me with a clear military mission and the resources to accomplish our task."
