“All people? Since when does congress represent the people. They represent corporations and care NOTHING about people, If they did, they wouldn't be doing this treasonous thing against Americans.
I wish Obama were stronger and could throw their seditionist backsides in jail where they belong.”

“You seem to forget that the republicans for over two years have refused to do exactly that. They have refused 18 time in a row to show up at the senate conference committee hearings where the budget is debated and negotiated. If they refuse to participate how can you have your outcome?”

“So the people didn't have a voice when the law went through both houses of Congress and passed by a democratic vote? They didn't have a voice when it was challenged in the SCOTUS and upheld? They didn't have a choice when the ACA became a central issue in the 2012, and a national electorate voted in favor of re-electing the man who championed this law?
Having a voice and enforcing your will over a democratic majority are not the same thing. If a democratically elected state legislature votes for "right to work" legislation that cuts unionization, should we not abide by that vote? Can we please use state budget bills to extort voter suppression laws?
Maybe a good citizen of a democratic republic will acknowledge the most basic principle of our self-governing polity - majoritarian rule by democratic vote. If that fundamental element is lost or allowed to be disregarded then we cease to be America - we are no longer a nation of free people.”
lisatx on Oct 3, 2013 at 22:54:27
“You mean when a handful of folks, against the will of American people, cause immediate severe damages to their country trying to repeal the law constitutionally supported by all three brunches of democratically elected government, you call it "having a voice?".
I call it political terrorism, and believe they need to be punished for treason.”

“Not even close to true. But it does sound EXACTLY what a republican would say and that IS meant as an insult. My husband and I, along with many of our friends, are Democrats and we worked VERY hard for many years, save a lot of money and retired at age 55 and do not live off of the government. We live on money we EARNED by getting up and going to work every day and saving in a safe place, not the stock market by the way, and now we are reaping the profits of our hard work every day. How're you doing????”

“I disagree. The American population needs him. I love to read what he say he writes well and other read him. This has value when I can prove him wrong by Austrian economics, empirical data and on occasion even with his own words. Since his column, opportunity has availed for common sense to be spoken and unheard evils now told. I still favored your comment.”

“To discount the root cause of our problems is to deny reality. Bush took 8 years of disastrous policies to bring the country to its knees. The GOP has done everything in it's power to keep the country at it's knees. You may call Obama blamer in chief when one of you, just one, admits that the economy crashed during Bush's administration. The GOP are the ones who need to step up and quit being such babies.”

“Wow, you think any republican can handle money ?
Do you honestly believe that a business is run better by a private group ? I dont, I think it is the biggest myth out there that private companies run things more economically. All a private company does , is bleed the public dry.
I can think of every public company that has changed hands here in BC, Canada, the train system, the ferries, everything . They are all now in the hands of insane right wing greed mongers, service is far far worst, and the costs have skyrocketed.
Everyone in this province knows that to be true.
So, dont think it is about spending other peoples money, what the right wants is to bleed you dry.
The best example is the government insurance plan for cars, it runs well, costs are very reasonable, everything is listed, you have auto centers everywhere to get your estimates. In a private system like in Ontario, I was at the mercy of idiotic companies who's rates were insane, and you couldnt even get someone to deal with your problems.
