“Instead of making insulting remarks, go look at the bill! As with most of these disaster aid bills, a huge amount goes to completely UNRELATED PROJECTS. And that occurs whether it is sponsored by a Reupublican or a Democrat!
both parties like to spend the OPM (TAX MONEY!)”

“That's right, go look at the BILL and stop listening to talking heads TELLING you what the bill says.  Called fact checking.”

“The Senators from Oklahoma have actually been fairly consistent in their decisions to try to stop the waste of the monies used in these disaster aid bills. If you check the actual records for these types of bill, there has been (an likely will continue to be) huge spending on items that have nothing to do with the disaster.

Indiana had massive flooding a few years ago. While businesses in the area of flooding were often given little or no funds from FEMA, significant amounts were used to provide funding for projects (such as new buildings and parks) in areas far away from those damaged by the floods. Most of these funds were distributed on the basis of politics and not actual need. Many of the flooded businesses went under and hundred of jobs were lost because of that.

This is just another example of a huge, out of control government spending OPM (other peoples money--TAXPAYERS MONEY!)

Both parties are essentially equally guilty of doing this, which is one reason why the budget has ballooned and is way out of control! The whole system (government, taxes, and politics) needs to be revised, and until it is, we are going to remain in DEEP TROUBLE.

Because as we all know, money is supposed to be wasted on wars entered dishonestly and fought lackadaisically--I mean, if Bush thought that actually winning the war was important wouldn't he have cancelled his elitist and unnecessary tax cut so he could have built the force that then-Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki thought we would need?”

“NO MATTER WHAT SHE SAYS, THAT IS SIMPLY GROSS AND ONE OF THE MOST CRASS THINGS YOU COULD SAY. EVER HEAR OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT?”

“LJ, laws regulate individuals and the constitution regulates government. In this way, the constitution and bill of rights is used to invalidate unconstitutional laws, not address individual behavior.”

“Yes, and that's why ashydog can post that comment. You should familiarize yourself with that Amendment.”
