I've been vegan for seven years and only regret that I didn't do it sooner. I understand it isn't for everyone, but if everyone can make an effort to at least reduce, it's a step in the right direction.”

“Inflation is not a way out of the debt. Enough of the debt is in short term bills that we have to roll a lot of it over. Even the expectation of inflation would raise the rate we have to pay on that debt. Iiuc we structure the debt that way specifically to provide bondholders with the assurance that we won't try to use inflation as a way of virtually defaulting .”

Why Are Bankers Still Being Treated As Beltway Royalty?

“I am in the process of dumping Bank of America and established a checking and savings account at a Chicago based bank this week.
I wasn't thrilled when BoA took over my old bank last year but after all the TARP money and credit card bs I'm done with them for good.
I just hope BoA doesn't buy out my new bank like they did with my old MBNA Master Card. I was never late on a payment and never carried over a balance in any month . BoA sends me a letter 2 weeks ago cutting my credit line in half.
I'm fortunate not to be hurt by getting my credit line cut but how many other people are getting are getting gouged by BoA and their credit card rates? Enough is enough, I'm glad my senator, Dick Durbin, is fighting for the consumer.”

I am so glad to see a Seder at the White House, as a Baptist raised in Catholic school (who has a thing for Jews, go figure), my last Catholic school would have Passover, and I greatly appreciate the teacher who started the tradition. Many parents were outraged, buy my liberal mom was all for it and purchased a lot of what we used.
I never understand how some Christians are so up in arms about a celebration that our Savior observed. I believe that when we embrace the origins of our faith we will have a deeper understanding of one another.
And the food ain't half bad!!! :)”
