What You Don't Know About Osteoporosis
Commented Nov 15, 2009 at 16:54:19 in Living
“Um...regardless of male or female, both sexes suffer from it. My uncle has a compressed spine because of thousands of miniature fractures in his bones from osteoporosis. It runs in my family so I expected it but not as bad as I have it.”

“What about Forteo? I have been prescribed this for 18 months of daily injections. Does this truly reverse the bone loss that my doctors tell me is severe in my case? I can't find a lot of information on it to date.”

“What do your Dexa Scans report? Is it increasing your bone mass?
I was prescribed Forteo by a rheumatologist and felt very uncomfortable with that set up.
Subsequently found an endocrinologist who gives me a combination of testerone, estrogen and progesterone. They are natural hormones. Have had an increase in bone mass yearly.
Years of Fosamax and then Premarin did not give me any positive results.”

“Aren't the Catholics meatless on Fridays?”
PoliticalEnnui replied on Jun 29, 2009 at 22:12:06
“Not since Vatican Council II. That said, I'm all for bringing it back. I try to avoid red meat and pork on Fridays and during Lent. Then during the Fasting, I go completely meatless on Fridays. And I'm not even a practicing Catholic any more.”

“I'm surprised they didn't get rid of them all and hire out...they'd save much more. Bu then maybe they can't because of the union? When people start complaining about the cleanliness of the building, they may get it. You think anyone but custodial services is going to empty the trash?”

“If I had arms like hers I'd be sleeveless 24/7, 365 days a year.... Love Michelle and her class, style and significant intelligence. And lucky us to have a President who is so loved by his wife and his children.”

“Yes. I think some of the comments on some of the previous articles about whether, when and where it is "PROPER" to wear sleeves or a sleeveless garment (and better yet dresses with only one strap) are tired and at best, small-minded.”

“It must be overloaded at the moment, couldn't get on. But thank you. Anyway, it is just the idea that we could have a more international discussion.
I will always remember the interview on Spanish language television with Presidente Vicente Fox of Mexico prior to the invasion of Iraq. He was asked flat out by a reporter if Mexico would be joining the U.S. and Spain in the upcoming war. (A high level Spanish minister had just flown to Mexico to try to talk him into doing what Bush and Cheney wanted.) Presidente Fox said very clearly that he had talked with a Mexican representative who was familiar with the search for WMDs, and that since the representative had told him there was no evidence of WMDs (before the invasion), that he was against using Mexican military forces for a war based on the existence of WMDs. It seems to me a terrible shame that more news stories like that one were not reported on the MSM in the U.S. It also seems clear that we can never again rely on U.S. media alone to give us all of the news that we need.”

Gingrich Mounts Campaign to 'Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less'

“Hmmm...I thought we bought most of our crude from Canada not the OPEC nations. I thought I heard we produce 40% ourselves. Drilling in ANWAR will just send that oil to China or some other nation overseas closer to the drilling site. It would be too expensive to send it to the US for refining.
I'm not a fan of NASCAR but didn't they change formulas so they use biofuels this year? That way they could avoid the calls for the end of the "sport" because of the waste - burning all that gas just to drive around in circles (ovals).
Rich people don't think they need to sacrifice. They can afford it so they want more just like Newt.”
