However,You are right (sorta) about two things. One, I could care less about stats and figures. Two, I have spent the last decade in your mom.
Noel is a rare musician in the current musical climate. He knows song structure and melody( even if they are all based on the Beatles song structure and style) .
Liam, the lesser talent, made up for it by being a damn entertaining "rock star". Noel will have a nice little solo career, low key, but creative.
Lumpyspun, I am actually a musician. Not a Guitar Hero playing teenager in your mothers basement. (Mind you, I am now a proud parent who stays home and chills most weekends, playing clubs is not my thing anymore)
I was not a huge fan of the band, but I respect talent when I see it. Noel has it.

PS: I will say that the UK has produced some far superior musicians in the last twenty years or so. Bloc Party is amazing. Radiohead are ...Radiohe­ad and you can't even use words to describe them.

Why isn't enough to say that YOU like them? As if somehow the inclusion of stats and facts - listing thousands of other people who agree with you - proves that your decision to like them is valid. It is no more valid than my decision to NOT like them if I choose.
It's music - everyone gets to like some and not like some. Does this have to be the basis of contention too?”
