My Year off Sugar

My Year off Sugar

Commented Apr 10, 2012 at 08:51:47 in Healthy Living

“I gave up sugar a year ago and have never regretted it and dont miss it. I wanted to add something else I just learnt, my husband and son in law for different reasons, also just gave up sugar and gluten and they both had had sleep apnea quite badly. It disappeared almost immediately. It was not the reason they gave it up, my husband had heart palpitations quite badly and my son in law was supporting his wifes diet, however, the sleep apnea going away was a wonderful benefit that everyone is grateful for. To confirm this, my son in law went off the diet for a day (not deliberately) and that night his sleep apnea came back. Also, my husbands heart palpitations stopped immediately as well, I am sure giving up gluten as well as sugar contributed to that.”

“Grains turn to sucros, sugar, in our bodies, so it may not be the gluten that the body reacts to. Giving up bread and pasta was the next best thing I ever did for my body, right after sugar!”

“I want to pass on something that my family just learnt. My husband and son in law have sleep apnea, quite badly. Recently, for different reasons both of them went on a gluten free and sugar free diet unrelated to the sleep apnea and we discovered that both of them started to sleep normally and much better. It was almost immediate. The apnea is almost gone for them both. A wonderful benefit to the diet.”
