The ppl with the education, experience and supposed business ethics are being protected and not being held accountable.

The poor and ignorant in our society are used as excuses.”

“the usa has turned into a giant pyramid scheme”

LLeGrande replied on Nov 25, 2009 at 17:58:35

“We are taking from the poor, and giving to the rich in many different ways now.

Banking fees hit the poor the hardest.

Income taxes through President Bush transferred income from the poor and middle class to the wealthy by reducing their taxes, and putting everything else the government spends onto a 'charge card' for future generations. That includes the two wars and the bail out of the criminal brokers and bankers who brought the world to the brink of financial collapse.

Then there is this 'death tax' matter which the rich want repealed so that their wealth can pass from generation to generation without any tax consequences.

The highest 5% of income earners receive more than the bottom 60% of earners.

The highest 5% of wealth owners own more than 80% of all assets, and that trend continues at a good clip.

And the government does nothing. Eventually, the people will.”

“Capitalism at its finest”

siralfred replied on Nov 24, 2009 at 17:08:11

“When the capitalists depend on the government to bend the rules in their favor, it's actually fascism. If it was just laissez-faire capitalism, Ratner would actually have to negotiate individually with every landowner whose property he wants, and even accept that some won't sell at any price, if that was the case. And the governments role would be to protect the interests of the property owners, not the developer.”

If you love this country and its freedoms why would you not exercise them?

why do you subordinate the actual practice of your freedom to a ritual?

don't you get it?”

Not saying that what they provided is not true in every case and maybe the contributions are not influencing politicians but really how often does this happen every day? How many times would it take before any reasonable human on either side gives in to lies or is corrupted?”

Ted Haggard Prayer Meeting: People Who Showed Up 'Believe In Resurrection'

Commented Nov 13, 2009 at 18:34:59 in Denver

“I attended New Life for a short time.

Mr. Haggard, to hear him tell it, started his last church in his basement. With true entrepreneurial skill he built it into, I believe, a multimillion dollar concern. He had a cadre of his followers that sat up front. They appeared to be his oldest or most ardent followers. Those that spoke in tongues and flopped on the floor and whirled and danced. He has a certain charisma I guess, I found him to be creepy.

It would not surprise at all if he started over again and had church to rival his old one some day. I imagine the stockholders in his new business concern will be watching a bit more closely. Frankly that is all a lot of these churches are. A business selling Jesus and the accompanying accessories.”

“They should be angry with the local or state government and the school district not the movie company.

AFAIK movie companies have to get permits and such from the state and cities for exactly these reasons, closing streets to shoot leads to disruptions in pubic transportation and then there is always crowd control of the gawkers and such.

If the company did this, then the school district should have been notified.

Even if it was last minute the school district should have had a better plan than dropping the kids off at a mall”
