“I knew the family - she went to talk to a layer about divorce and had problems for several months - he lost his job and after that wanted to move back where they used to live, she refused and he became enraged and abusive to her. That's all I will say - but this is simply tragic.”

“How horrific for her father to have to find them all that way. My condolences to all of their family and friends.”

“"You just never know what's going on in other people's lives."
The thing is, when this abuse is going on there are always people who know. If you're a bystander, a witness or just someone with information, you have a responsibility. Do something. say something...before it's too late.”

“so sad - other posters were wondering if it had to do with job loss.....”
“I hat to think this way but I have NO trust in our governmnet - what is so important going on in our government that they would need to divert attention - nothing RIGHT! Bush administration is in the early stages of being investigated crimnally.
...I've chosen to go to court rather than accept a payoff from the 9/11 victims compensation fund. Instead, I want to know what went so wrong with our intelligence and security systems that a band of religious fanatics was able to turn four U.S passenger jets into an enemy force, attack our cities and kill 3,000 civilians with terrifying ease. I want to know why two 110-story skyscrapers collapsed in less than two hours and why escape and rescue options were so limited...”

“What upsets me the most is the hatred that was brought to the surface by Palin and that McCain waited so long to squash this - so now these moronic, politically uneducated supporters REALLY DO BELIEVE Barack is terrorist - a muslim, and let's not forget the bigotry that has always been there. This is a very dangerous belief in his supporters to encourage - and for this reason I feel much hostility towards McCain, Palin and his campaign management.
McCain is the McCain he always has been - but he has allowed himself to be lead down the wrong path. He is Anakin turning into Darth Vader, he is pulling away from the dark side, for that I am
“I believe McCain is in a very tough spot now - he allowed Palin to start this and now he trying to stop it from escalating anymore than it already has. I am very proud of him for standing up to his supporters and defending Barack. He basically said - I am a Obama supporter as of Nov.5th. McCain is not stupid - the man has nearly a 140 IQ and he knows that by doing what he did yesterday (as long as he continues on this path) - he will be a very important part of Barack's Administration. I can bet that Barack will acknowledge McCain at the next debate for his remarks at his rally yesterday - b/c that is the kind of man Barack is.
Does anyone really think Barack wanted to use those Keating 5 ads - NO - he believes that McCain was forgiven of his involvement and it should be left at that. Barack believes in forgiveness and McCain was cleared of that. Barack HAD to use those tactics to combat this nasty campaign he is against.”

“I am an Arizonan and I wrote to McCain a couple of days ago and told him if 'Senator Obama is either hurt or killed, YOU are responsible!'
Besides being a constituent of his, McCain is also my cousin.
Needless to say, my cousin does NOT have my vote.
McCain is a shame on our entire State!”
“Let me preface this by saying I am voting for Obama, I am an avid supporter - I love what this man stands for I love his leadership style. He is the best person for president.
I have thought about McCain's comments yesterday consistently and I have to say I feel sad for him - I really and truly feel sorry for him. I will tell you why. The man has allowed his campaign management to make MOST if not all of the decisions for him - he is a very miderate republican and when he first started to run I thought - well at least if McCain wins we will be OK. I thought this until he allowed his party to select Palin for his running mate - McCain did not choose Palin - let's face it - he does not agree with her on most issues even if he says he does - she is far to right-winged for him, but that is exactly why she was choosen - to win over those staunch conservatives - who IMHO would have voted for him anyway - I highly doubt they want a black man in office, even if they don't agree with much of what McCain stands for.”

“It is all being done at the direction of NEOCONS.
You would think McCain would have learned from the 2006 election that American is Sick and Tired of the NEOCONS policies and divisiveness.
NEOCONS and Moonies have completely taken over the Republican party!”
Unfortunately, I am still in the dark about the military spending and the rest of these promises when a half trillion dollars is being spent to bail out Wall St.
I don't want a pdf full of promises. I want to see numbers updated to reflect what is happening now. It is bad enough McCain is useless in this, but Barack too?????
He has to send a budget to Congress. He has the minds around him capable of sketching the costs out on paper, and giving some general indication of where the funds would be coming from.
Jeez, no wonder we are disappointed time and again. No one is willing to hold their own candidate's feet to the fire!!!! If he is that great for the country, he will come through - do you have no faith????”
“The most farcical aspect of this is that PALIN willingly revealed this about her daughter - she put her in the spotlight - she gave NO concern to her daughter what-so-ever - with all those family values - I would have expected more from the Evangelical mother she is. Now Bristol will have to be humilated more - not that being pregnant at age 17, unmarried and without a job is not humiliating enough!”
“A highly well-written piece Robert. As a women - I believe the choice for Palin is an absolute insult to women - being that the palpable reason for choosing a women is to gain the Hillary votes - JUST b/c she is a woman - does not mean she is not qualified for the job and does not mean that I or any other woman will vote for McCain and Palin. She is by far NOT a Hillary, or any other woman mentioned in your article. McCain should have just said - "YES, we are conceeding, yes this is what we are doing - but we will continue to waste the time, money and energy - b/c that my friend is what I do best"!
Not only for McCain, but for all the evils wrought by the NeoCon/ Repub gov during these last years, and of more dire threats for the future. The evidence of harm caused and of danger present, is all around.
There are two images that might convey the present situation. One is a kind of Trojan horse. A beautiful, dynamic, charismatic woman as a trojan horse. To allow her in the gates is to unleash once again the darkside agenda - NOT, repeat NOT from herself, but from those who are hidden within the party she represents - the warmongers, the war profiteers, the corporate interests over individual lives, the blueprint for fascism, for loss of individual rights, for bringing the planet to the brink of”
