Clear a Drawer, Change Your Life: A Surprising Path to Reinvention

“Stephanie ~ You tell your story beatifully. When I finished reading, I felt that clearing my space is possible. Actually it is a work in progress, a few steps forward, then a few back but when I read what you write, I'm inspired to clear again. Thank you. There is something serene that manifests in your writing. After reading, I took a small action and changed two light bulbs. Today, I clear a drawer.”

“Aww thank you Maryann! One small action combined serenity are music to my ears! Who knows what one drawer will lead to...! Let me know how it goes. Cheers!”
David Brooks: Sarah Palin

David Brooks: Sarah Palin "Represents A Fatal Cancer To The Republican Party"

Commented Oct 8, 2008 at 19:23:10 in Politics

“Is David Brooks conflicted about Palin?? Or confused? In a recent NYT op-ed, "The Palin Rebound" he praised her debate performance with Biden. He wrote, "There she was, resplendent in black,..." and "By the end of her opening answers, it was clear she would meet the test. She spoke with that calm, measured poise that marked her convention speech,...." Not once in the op-ed did he question her qualifications for VP. Now a few days later he is calling her a cancer. Makes me wonder about what he really thinks.”

“There certainly is more to this than meets the eye - nobody could have watched the Biden-Palin debate and come away with the impression that this woman was the least bit qualified. It was clear from the Couric interviews that Palin was brainless - Brooks has somehow recovered from his initial infatuation, but it wasn't a result of Palin's blatant mediocrity, as that had already been made clear when he wrote his admiring screed.”

“This was Palin Scripted and prepared at the debate, like the Republican Convention. What journalism major who was a broadcast journalist can memorize enough and read idiot cards or script to look competent under these conditions. Maybe David Brooks thinks of this more highly because it is difficult for him, but others see this as pure performance.”

realpolitic on Oct 8, 2008 at 19:28:35

“Yes, I remember. Brooks was incredibly giddy about her first debate performance. I suppose he came to realize it was all bluster and showmanship. Perhaps it was that other conservative columnists were jumping off the Palin bandwagon so Brooks did not want to be left behind.”
