Torture doesn't ever yield info because the person who is getting tortured will say anything he thinks the 'interrogator' wants him to say just to make the torture stop.
Liz will say anything to promote and protect her father's sick and twisted version of events, even justifying the use of torture. Sick.”

If we torture, what is the diff between Al Qaeda and this great, civilized, law abiding nation, the USA?
By your own logic, they torture us, we torture them?
OK, shall we gas the enemy next time we go to war, like in 1914?
Shall we pull some nails? Burn them with cigarettes? electrocute their genitals? Rape their women?
Where do you start? Where do you stop, or do you?
Do you know what responsibilities you have being an American citizen?
Shall we give Cheney a medal? Put Bush on Mt. Rushmore?”

“This is a slow acting cancer.
There are 2 ways of fighting prostate cancer:
Removal of the prostate through surgery.

I have a close friend with stage 2 cancer, who after radiation+ therapy, is now cured.
At 68, if Imus is healthy, surgery is probably possible.”

“The problem with houses seems to be
the difference in the price of land at a given location, which is totally arbitrary and subject to supply and demand.
I was visiting relatives in price George county, city of Laurel, MD; there, a brand new house's asking price is about $1M two years ago; the same house in West Lafayette Indiana cost about $400, including the cost of the lot in West Lafayette which is $60K, two years ago. Some house prices in DC are totally inflated.
Prices of houses in some parts of the country need to come down a lot more before the mortgage/foreclosure problem is solved.”

I understand your post about Germany and appreciate the fact that Germans are a very law abiding people. Thank you.
However, to arrest someone because (s)he expressed an opinion, be it an erroneous one, is a BAD law because it violates the universal and fundamental freedom of speech. This law needs to be changed.
"This law is something they feel is very important to their coming to grips with the awful atrocities they freely admit they commented during WWII"
There must be other ways of coming to grips with their past. Perhaps the state could sue the individual for libel and the burden of proving the holocaust did occur rests with the state.”
