“OBAMA owns this mess. The Dems own this mess. The Republicans own this mess. YOU ALL OWN THIS MESS, and you ALL WILL PAY IN THE COMING ELECTIONS. It is indeed going to be a grand time for INDEPENDENT candidates, many of whom will win their elections, and the rest, well they will make winning all that much harder for this pack of outdated and corporately owned members of the senate.”

“Welcome to the Corporate Owned States of America. The USA has been dead for quite a while. How and why lobbyists were ever allowed into Washington is a mystery to most. Where did it begin? When did THEY begin running the people sent to Washington to govern for the people? When did GREED once and for all tighten its grip on our capital and governing bodies, never to let go. Unless the way we govern in this country is change, Americans, indeed all of the rest of the world in time, are screwed, PERIOD. When nothing can be changed for the betterment of this countries citizens and the peoples of the world, because those entrusted to implement that change are owned and operated by the minion of lobbyists that have become the government, we ARE SCREWED, each and every one of us. WELCOME TO THE C.O.S.A.”

LordByron13 replied on Dec 21, 2009 at 11:03:13

“I'm perfectly fine with taking a beating on my response to your post...and if so, well, I just hope it spurs the right kind of conversation:

Lobbying in and of itself isn' t illegal, as I'm sure you understand that; but, its a necessary part of the American political process. If I'm not mistaken, the tea-baggers showing up on capital hill might be considered as part of the lobbying, though not exactly.

I will submit that the exact date and time of the infection is not known, but, if you go back to what ever party or politician began subverting the will of the people and using it to justify corporate interests you'll be warm on the trail.

The other part of it is, how many of us can exercise our right(is it a right?) to lobby our reps directly? I know I can't afford to fly to Washington DC on short notice or schedule an appearance with my representative...and at this stage, it doesn't really matter. First off, 'blew-dog' dems and dumb repugnicons would not have listened to me anyway.
Secondly, we outnumber lobbyists, population wise. That is to say there are not more lobbyists, than there are citizens. Even if we got half the population to get out and vote that would still out number them.

The electorate still needs a good political education...but we can do this.

WE have to do it.

"WE are the one's we've been waiting for..."”

“The way our government runs MUST CHANGE. No longer can elected officials be trusted to govern FOR THE PEOPLE. Washington is a cesspool, and each and every one of these pitiful excuses for a body of leaders must go. TERM LIMITS but be put in place making it harder for the bought and paid for to remain entrenched so that decade after decade, we achieve next to nothing that benefits the American people, that is unless you are tied to THEM, the corporate greed merchants who want it all at the expense of everyone else. If the members of the house are smart, they can still salvage some of their careers by forcing the CHANGE THAT PEOPLE WANT IN AMERICA into this bill. As it stands now, ALL OF AMERICA is at the mercy of THEM because of this gutless attempt at reform, AND THEY are salivating at the prospects of millions more customers to rape and pillage financially.”

“Catch 22, things were pretty much buggered up already and not just wasteful spending but downright useless and even charged for but absent projects. To fix the damage, more money has to be spent and you are basically stuck with the same contractors because they are already there. All you can do is dramatically tighten up on auditing and of course investigation and prosecution. That unfortunately does take time, years in fact but it really needs to be done and as soon as possible so the US can escape that republican boondoggle and quagmire before it becomes a democrat one.”

“It is obamas baby allright. He and the dems are content to now mandate all Americans to lose their fortunes to insurance companies rather than going bankrupt quickly due to an unexpected uninsured emergency. America is hemmorhaging and this mess will be the end of even more Americans. There is no doubt that most political careers involved in this mess are finished. Let me repeat this because it's really important---this asteroid is not accelerating, it's not decelerating, it is moving at a very specific speed on a very specific trajectory and will not arrive 17 years earlier. April 2029 is not a guess, it's not a date pulled out of a hat, it's physics.
