Top 10 Reasons to Kill the Senate Health Care Bill

“maybe, but it will cover 30 million who don't have it. so i think, correct if i'm wrong, this is a huge improvement, or is your "friend" the only one that matters?”

“hmmm 30 million people are the ones that will be forced to buy insurance or pay a fine, there is no proof that those 30 millions will have enough money to afford any premium or that they will be forced to pay the fine. All sales point for the senate bill that means nothing.
the senate bill has tax credit to help people pay for health insurance, now correct me if i am wrong isn't a tax credit something you get when you file your taxes?
the house bill has subsidies to help pay for the insurance.”

“the president is in a very tough spot. exactly what is he supposed to do? pull out of afghanistan and leave them to deal w/ the aftermath of u.s. policies? are we supposed to stay forever? are we to negotiate w/ the tali ban? what about pakistan? those folks yelling about "irony" and the "war president" need to provide some answers instead of thoughtless invective. just what is the president supposed to do, huh?”
Cloball replied on Dec 10, 2009 at 17:18:28
“Other nations need to help more. That's what he wants. It shouldn't be up to the US anymore to provide peace throughout the world. We've done it for six decades he said. Spend our money. Lose American lives. Other countries need to help more. They benefit from this peace as much as we do.”
Mr. President, War Is Not Peace
Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 16:55:15 in Politics
“look, i'm no fan of this blasted war, but you accuse the prez of using lofty, meaningless rhetoric, and you claim that war is not peace, and that the afghan women you visited want "peace" above all. so tell me, precisely instead of relying on your lofty rhetoric, how exactly is the prez supposed to secure "peace" in afghanistan? by leaving? by sending more troops? by forcibly removing their corrupt prez? lots of questions and no good answers, so back off.”

“Simple: instead of spending billions and billions on bombs, guns and men in uniform, you spend money on schools, hospitals and feeding women and children. Result: Peace
There is no such thing as a 'just war'. War will always mean that innocent people get killed on behalf of power brokers.
Nor is there any such thing as pure evil. Evil is entirely dependent on perspective. From Al Qaeda's point of view, America is evil, from America's point of view, Al Qaeda is evil.
Obama justified war, but failed completely to explain the fundamental causes of war: poverty and injustice, and you don't cure these with guns and bombs.”

“And if your daughter or a friend found themselves in need of an abortion and they didn't have health insurance and didn't have the money, what would you say to them? It's easy to express opinions like that in the abstract, but what if it directly impacts your family or friends who might not have the financial resources?”

“The Stupak Amendment creates conditions where women will not be allowed to purchase insurance that covers abortions, or even a post-miscarriage D&C. By creating conditions where plans that include D&Cs will not be on the exchanges, they will be creating a huge difference in administrative costs to offer complete plans. Insurance companies won't bother.
I know women who've had fetuses stop developing at 3 months who's plans wouldn't cover removal even after 6 months of no fetal development. That's what we can all expect from our health care with Stupak.”
