“I love Carrie Fisher. She is hilarious. I saw her on Joy Behar's show and her mom called in. Too funny. The book "Wishful Drinking" is funny, bittersweet, and poignant. As someone with chronic clinical depression, I am glad that Carrie has found help with ezt. It is not the horrific treatment of the fifties anymore. She was fabulous on Letterman. And she looks good. She proves that women don't have to keep their unrealistic waist sizes of sex symbolism. She has a great face and whoever said she looks like Elton John should be slapped.”

Justdontgetit replied on Nov 25, 2009 at 21:47:05

“I just finished the book after I saw her on Joy Behar also.

Carrie, bless you honey. You give a lot of 50-something women a good laugh.

I'm still laughing because I know that all of the Cutsie Ones are going to have to deal with gravity and consequences some day.

My daughter got a rose tatoo on her breast. When I saw it I told her she was going to regret that because someday that cute little rose would become a long stemmed rose and just not be as pretty!”

“Pro-lifers need to care for single mothers beyond the time of the birth of the child. I have seen many pro-lifers be oh, so supportive of the woman while she is pregnant and then when she has to get public assistance or go back to work so she can afford the child, the jeers of welfare mother or bad mother come from the pro-lifers. I am a pro-lifer from the womb to the grave.
That means from the moment of conception to the moment of death. True Christians are there for people no matter what. I also believe this means good health care for all that is affordable.
This murdering psychopath should be given what he judged upon Dr. Tiller-death. He should have no problem with the death penalty. "An eye for an eye" after all. At least that is what it sounds like he believes. And if that is what he believes and since there were several eye witnesses, death should be his sentence, not a lifetime on the taxpayers.”

“My grandpa died in 06. I had told him about Mike Wallace and Clint HIll being on Larry King in March 06. He cried when I talked about that show, saying what a rotten government we have that let Clint Hill hang about this assassination. I think that Clint Hill, almost more than even maybe the Kennedys, was more adversely affected by JFK's death. The man nearly committed suicide over not being able to save JFK. Without encouragement from Mike Wallace and Mrs. Hill, Clint Hill may have been another victim, but medication helped his depression and melacholy over the assasination.
My grandfather died not knowing who killed Kennedy--my grandpa was 41 when Kennedy was killed. JFK was like a contemporary of his. I hope that before I die we will know who did this heinous act.”

“The Truth is out. Unfortunately, like a big gold nugget,
it is surrounded by gravel, dust and black iron sand. (bogus and erroneous data) There are so many names of people who could have been involved...it will be next to impossible to know unless Tricia Nixon or Frank Sturgis' kid or someone else flips a diary on a table some day and it is seen. In the U.S.A. censorship is not done by witholding information, it is done by overdose and stupidity, like the books;
1) "Appointment In Dallas" by Hugh McDonald a book so peppered with palatable facts that it almost fools us that it is a novel with a stupid twist.
2) "Mortal Error" by Bonar Menninger, who asserts that JFK was killed by a Secret Serviceman (George Hickey) who stood up in a follow-up car and accidentally killed JFK with an AR-15 (.223) when he lost his balance.
There's no end to the tantalizing and bogus goop that has been pumped into this "thing."

“was acting president as soon as jfk was shot, was president once jfk was pronounced dead. he didn't need sarah hughes to swear him in, it was a fate compleat. The oath is just formality.”

ARonHenry replied on Nov 03, 2009 at 03:30:55

“You are spot on. The oath is a formality. The first VP to assume the office of President apon the death of a president was John Tyler. President William Henry Harrison died a mere 30 days after taking office in Washington DC. The date was April 4, 1841. Miles away at his Virginia home VP Tyler was enjoying an afternoon with his children. It took many hours to reach Tyler that day and advise him that Harrison had died. Tyler was president the moment Harrison passed. But much time went by before Tyler recieved the news. He was in fact on his hands and knees in the dirt playing a game of marbles with some of his children when he was found and informed.

There was a great debate in Washington as to whether or not John Tyler was actually the President or Vice President acting as President. Tyler was having none of that. He assumed the office and all it's trappings, including moving into the White House. He set the precident on the transfer of power apon the death of a president.

The truth be told JFK was killed instantly. LBJ was president at that moment whether he knew it or not and whether anyone admitted it or not. The presidency of this country never stops or dies. The office is passed on.”

A New Wrinkle in the JFK Assassination Story

Commented Nov 01, 2009 at 17:01:24 in Books

“Even though I am a radical Democrat-Farmer Labor party member in MN, I would not usually defend LBJ. Some on here think he wasn't too liberal. The fact of the matter is before he went into politics, he was a school teacher. In the poorest part of Texas, teaching dirt poor, poverty stricken Mexican children and children of poor Texan farmers. He saw the extreme poverty of their situation. While the man for the most part was a pri-k, that experience stayed with him. While Bobby and Jack Kennedy came around to the idea of civil rights and the like, for JFK it was pretty much a cerebral thing. For Bobby Kennedy, I think it got to his heart as a father; LBJ remembered the kids he taught. And of course there was continuing the legacy of JFK. My grandfather told me once that LBJ was quoted as saying "yipee" when he was told JFK had died from the gunshots.
For the most part, I would not defend LBJ/ When you hear those tapes where he literally kisses the arse of J. Edgar Hoover (amoral) and literally blows smoke up his arse about the warren commission and his bitter whining about Bob Kennedy, I know I want to puke.
LBJ didn't die a drunk. He died from a broken heart. That was broken by his stupidity about Vietnam.”

PoliSci2008 replied on Nov 02, 2009 at 15:18:11

“My reading on LBJ concurs with your comment that LBJ was more devoted to desegregation and Civil Rights than JFK. JFK was holding out for the '64 election and put Civil Rights bill on the shelf.

Also, your grandfather's folklore is not too far from truth. It is White House documented that JFK was to eliminate LBJ from the '64 re-election ticket b/c of LBJ's association with a known murderer, who was suspected of killing LBJ's sister and LBJ's business associates. RFK had a planned meeting with one of LBJ business associates, who conveniently came up dead!

Also, LBJ hated the Kennedys and how they belittled him and resolved him to NASA projects.

LBJ's behavior before and in the wake the assassination is up for discussion, along with J Edgar Hoover, the big Texas Oilmen of those days, and an Italian hitman.”

Our beef won't be ready til-mid december. ate the last roast a week ago and have been out of hamburger for a month. IF you like beef from the grocery store, this grass fed organic will totally blow your mind. Roasts are best in the crock pot with a stock and steak is delish!~ And Jazz hands no you can't find it all over the place. We have been duped in the past. “so many things were botched up in the investigation of JFK's death. from his body being removed from Parkland Hospital--where the autopsy should have been done--to Johnson ordered the limo Kennedy was killed in redone, evidence was just left unattended at parkland in that car and then Johnson has it all redone before anyone can examine the car. So--he commits a felony there-evidence tampering, destruction. O'Donnell, Powers, and even Jackie Kennedy, removing the victim's body before autopsy, anyone else would have been arrested. The brain, according to Arthur Schlesinger, Jr's book, RFK took JFK's brain from Bethesda and buried it somewhere. I do not think we will ever know what happened.”

n4m replied on Nov 01, 2009 at 22:20:53

It talks about one of the items you mention, that of the limo being redone.
The doc claims it was sent to the Ford factory where the front windshield was replaced because of a bullet hole made by a bullet coming from the front of the limo.
They showed an interview with a man who claimed to have worked on the limo.
You can google the name of the doc, if you want to see it.”

“Lane is a complete liar.

He kept claiming the WC hide things and then he testified before it and he would not reval his info and was chasitized by the Commision.

Also, ther is a tape of him trying to change a witness' identification of LHO as the shooter of Tippet.

Lane was the one who portrayed Ruby as having a big secret to reveal abt the k!lling, but guess wht? He left out the most important part of Ruby's quote.

He quoted Ruby as saying to CJ Warren, "you have to get me to Washington. You are the only one who can save me."

Sounds ominous doesn't it? Then Ruby said, "There was no conspiracy!"

Nice of Lane to leave that out.”

“I go to a discount grocer, where last week they had three pounds of fresh apples for $1.19. Two pounds of grapes for $1.58. Their fresh veggies and fruits are wonderful. The canned food they have is very cheap, usually it is a name brand under one of their lesser known names. What I would buy at one of the retail grocers here for $80, I can get at this discount grocer for between $35-40. Of course our kid complained that it wasn't "name brand", I told him when he buys groceries with his own money he can waste it on name brand. Also we buy grass fed organic beef from a friend who is an organic farmer. With the butchering and fee to the farmer, it comes out to $2.40 per pound--steaks, roasts, hamburger, the works. It takes having a big freezer, but only buying beef once a year is great!”

“As of yesterday there are more women in the workplace than men compared to 30% woman 40 years ago. Women are paid less because corporations take advantage of the female nature. Corps love this as men are far more militant in the workplace in trying to gain higher wages. Having large amounts of unemployed men in the society can also lead to civil unrest due to the natural aggression in men being built up without an outlet. Men need to be occupied with creating or working or they become negatively restless. Its part of male testosterone. This is not going to change quickly as some feminists say it should as men have had this in their genes for 100,000 yrs....”
