7 Ways To Bust Holiday Depression
Commented Dec 15, 2009 at 10:52:06 in Living
“As someone who has chronic clinical depression, this time of year is very hard for me. It is especially hard these last three years as my beloved grandfather died five days before Christmas, and one day before my birthday, in 2006. My husband and I, along with our son, have not attended his family's Christmas Eve since then. The once a year big get together where everyone plasters their fake smiles on their faces was just too much for us. We have started our own tradition, having friends who might not have a place to go over for Christmas Eve supper and my husband and son sing at the 1030 service at our parish. We spend Christmas Day with our best friends and their son and ours. It is very low key, no gifts, no bs. Just good food, movies, laughter and love all around. And they are okay if I start to cry and feel bad. Christmas was always wonderful when I was growing up with my grandparents. We try to make it wonderfuland real for our son, who is 20.”
Remembering John Lennon, 29 Years Later

“John was so much more than any of us mere mortal fans will ever know. On Dec. 8, 1980, I had gone to bed early. My folks heard the news and decided to let me sleep. So when I awoke at 5am, hearing Peter Vitca on "The Source" saying that "former Beatle John Lennon was shot and killed last night.", I lost my innocence. Just shy of my 18th birthday, one of my heroes was taken. I screamed, I cried, I swore, and I listened to the music. And I hung his picture on the outside of my locker at school. I wanted people to know what we had lost. I try to remember him more on his birthday, October 9, rather than remember the day that the jerk of all jerks took John away from everyone. Rest in peace John. Give George, Linda, Mimi, Maureen, Neil, Brian, Mal and all the other "beatle family members" a hug from us.”

“My grandpa died in 06. I had told him about Mike Wallace and Clint HIll being on Larry King in March 06. He cried when I talked about that show, saying what a rotten government we have that let Clint Hill hang about this assassination. I think that Clint Hill, almost more than even maybe the Kennedys, was more adversely affected by JFK's death. The man nearly committed suicide over not being able to save JFK. Without encouragement from Mike Wallace and Mrs. Hill, Clint Hill may have been another victim, but medication helped his depression and melacholy over the assasination.
My grandfather died not knowing who killed Kennedy--my grandpa was 41 when Kennedy was killed. JFK was like a contemporary of his. I hope that before I die we will know who did this heinous act.”

“The Truth is out. Unfortunately, like a big gold nugget,
it is surrounded by gravel, dust and black iron sand. (bogus and erroneous data) There are so many names of people who could have been involved.. .it will be next to impossible to know unless Tricia Nixon or Frank Sturgis' kid or someone else flips a diary on a table some day and it is seen. In the U.S.A. censorship is not done by witholding information, it is done by overdose and stupidity, like the books;
1) "Appointment In Dallas" by Hugh McDonald a book so peppered with palatable facts that it almost fools us that it is a novel with a stupid twist.
2) "Mortal Error" by Bonar Menninger, who asserts that JFK was killed by a Secret Serviceman (George Hickey) who stood up in a follow-up car and accidentally killed JFK with an AR-15 (.223) when he lost his balance.
There's no end to the tantalizing and bogus goop that has been pumped into this "thing."

ARonHenry replied on Nov 03, 2009 at 03:30:55
“You are spot on. The oath is a formality. The first VP to assume the office of President apon the death of a president was John Tyler. President William Henry Harrison died a mere 30 days after taking office in Washington DC. The date was April 4, 1841. Miles away at his Virginia home VP Tyler was enjoying an afternoon with his children. It took many hours to reach Tyler that day and advise him that Harrison had died. Tyler was president the moment Harrison passed. But much time went by before Tyler recieved the news. He was in fact on his hands and knees in the dirt playing a game of marbles with some of his children when he was found and informed.
There was a great debate in Washington as to whether or not John Tyler was actually the President or Vice President acting as President. Tyler was having none of that. He assumed the office and all it's trappings, including moving into the White House. He set the precident on the transfer of power apon the death of a president.
The truth be told JFK was killed instantly. LBJ was president at that moment whether he knew it or not and whether anyone admitted it or not. The presidency of this country never stops or dies. The office is passed on.”

“Even though I am a radical Democrat-Farmer Labor party member in MN, I would not usually defend LBJ. Some on here think he wasn't too liberal. The fact of the matter is before he went into politics, he was a school teacher. In the poorest part of Texas, teaching dirt poor, poverty stricken Mexican children and children of poor Texan farmers. He saw the extreme poverty of their situation. While the man for the most part was a pri-k, that experience stayed with him. While Bobby and Jack Kennedy came around to the idea of civil rights and the like, for JFK it was pretty much a cerebral thing. For Bobby Kennedy, I think it got to his heart as a father; LBJ remembered the kids he taught. And of course there was continuing the legacy of JFK. My grandfather told me once that LBJ was quoted as saying "yipee" when he was told JFK had died from the gunshots.
For the most part, I would not defend LBJ/ When you hear those tapes where he literally kisses the arse of J. Edgar Hoover (amoral) and literally blows smoke up his arse about the warren commission and his bitter whining about Bob Kennedy, I know I want to puke.
LBJ didn't die a drunk. He died from a broken heart. That was broken by his stupidity about Vietnam.”

“My reading on LBJ concurs with your comment that LBJ was more devoted to desegregation and Civil Rights than JFK. JFK was holding out for the '64 election and put Civil Rights bill on the shelf.
Also, your grandfather's folklore is not too far from truth. It is White House documented that JFK was to eliminate LBJ from the '64 re-election ticket b/c of LBJ's association with a known murderer, who was suspected of killing LBJ's sister and LBJ's business associates. RFK had a planned meeting with one of LBJ business associates, who conveniently came up dead!
Also, LBJ hated the Kennedys and how they belittled him and resolved him to NASA projects.
LBJ's behavior before and in the wake the assassination is up for discussion, along with J Edgar Hoover, the big Texas Oilmen of those days, and an Italian hitman.”

“so many things were botched up in the investigation of JFK's death. from his body being removed from Parkland Hospital--where the autopsy should have been done--to Johnson ordered the limo Kennedy was killed in redone, evidence was just left unattended at parkland in that car and then Johnson has it all redone before anyone can examine the car. So--he commits a felony there-evidence tampering, destruction. O'Donnell, Powers, and even Jackie Kennedy, removing the victim's body before autopsy, anyone else would have been arrested. The brain, according to Arthur Schlesinger, Jr's book, RFK took JFK's brain from Bethesda and buried it somewhere. I do not think we will ever know what happened.”

It talks about one of the items you mention, that of the limo being redone.
The doc claims it was sent to the Ford factory where the front windshield was replaced because of a bullet hole made by a bullet coming from the front of the limo.
They showed an interview with a man who claimed to have worked on the limo.
You can google the name of the doc, if you want to see it.”

Lane was the one who portrayed Ruby as having a big secret to reveal abt the k!lling, but guess wht? He left out the most important part of Ruby's quote.
He quoted Ruby as saying to CJ Warren, "you have to get me to Washington. You are the only one who can save me."
Sounds ominous doesn't it? Then Ruby said, "There was no conspiracy!"
Nice of Lane to leave that out.”

Why Is Susan Boyle Still Being Disrespected?
Commented Sep 29, 2009 at 02:00:19 in Entertainment
“Paul McCartney and The Beatles are not the "flavor of the week." Forty-five years on the international scene is not flavor of the week. Susan Boyle, while very talented, is partly the making of Simon Cowell and his merry band of people. IL Divo (another Cowell creation) are very good, but they will not be around forty-five years or more. Neither will Susan Boyle. Susan will never write lyrics like McCartney. Susan Boyle also is not a flavor of the week.
To TJJJ: Boyle sings in a different genre than McCartney. Paul doesn't want to sing like Susan anymore than she wants to sing like Paul. Both have plenty of fans who are making them wealthy.
To even compare the two of them is like comparing an apple to a piece of steak. Not happening.”

And we laugh our butts off and learn something along the way, Bill was right on last week when he said Americans were stupid. The ad with the woman complaining about soda being taxed needs to go away. Soda, pop and sugar juice are not nutritional. When I was kid, back in the 70's pop was a treat. McDonalds was a treat--about once a month. We ate at home ten out of eleven nights. Going out to eat was a special treat, ocassion--like getting all a's on a report card or your birthday. Kids today expect to go out to eat as a regular part of life. No wonder so many people have ibs, colon problems, etc. When we went out to eat in the 70's we went where my folks wanted to go--a steakhouse, a supper club. Not mcdonald's. or pizza. I guess I am out of the loop I try to eat that way today. Healthy. I have diabetes type II, so what i put in my mouth is tantamount to how I feel. I have lost 90 pounds in five years, without surgery. Old fashioned, but successful.”

The jerk of all jerks who was and is mentally ill (he claims he is under control with medication and becoming "born-again", if I had a dollar for every con in prison who becomes born again, I 'd be rich) killed John Lennon. The government of this country under the near dictator, Richard Nixon, tried to kill his spirit, which they could not. Hoover was long dead before Lennon was murdered. Hell, Yoko and John attended the inaguaration of Carter. So I really don't think we can pin this on the government. Yoko is right to continue to ask that the jerk of all jerks be kept behind bars. As long as she, Paul, Olivia, Ringo, Barbara and all their children are alive, that man is just too dangerous to be free. Peace and love to one and all.”
