Every time a stone is thrown in these ancient texts the human race is being warned about nuclear weapons in the time cycles of World Ages. Ditto with the highly detailed rituals of "BURNT OFFERINGS" in the OT. Ditto with images of the "FLYING NAILS" to carry out the Crucifixion of Man in the story of the Crucifixion of Jesus.

In modern artistic context you call it "deep structure" in the semiotics of modern film. Little picture stories to transmit down through the Ages to benefit people who have inner esoteric knowledge while everybody else dies by the millions.

“Two question: What does an "atheist free mason" have to do with anything, and if don't believe that there is an invisible entity in the sky who randomly doles out blessings why in the world would I believe that masons have *secret* information that they've left us to decipher? That's the same kindergarten level-thinking that leads the people in the story above to cast stones at the devil.”

“No, I don't think I can make sense of death, and I don't have to. That's the difference between me and religious people. People make up religious explanations out of fear. The "explanation" for all of the things you mention is nature and it's mysterious and beautiful on its own, there doesn't need to be an artificial/imaginary entity behind it.”

sanileo replied on Nov 27, 2009 at 16:54:31

“and religion is not in contradiction with what nature has to offer. rather than simply nature as being there and coming out of no where, we firmly believe that, there is someone who is not human who put it there. you have a right not to believe that and to believe you just existed. that is your call, and that is why there is no compulsion in religion.

Question: have you ever seen any atheist free mason? to a certain degree, is there a secret about a "diety " that they are hiding from us.

i guess we will all find out the answer to this and many questions when we die. Unless you tell me that you wont die. At least u can prep nature not to make you”

“You know what's boring? Making up stories about people in the sky that you can pray to to get your way, or your pipeline, or land, or that oil in the Middle East. You know what is miraculous? Nature. And it isn't of "little significance" to me- I live in a world in which I have to observe people being killed because of religious ideas based on Stone Age beliefs. It's tragic.”

“Yep- ALL religions bring us back to the Stone Age. People couldn't make sense of death and the weather, so they had to make up an invisible man in the sky that they could appeal to for help. And even though that invisible man's blessings turned out to be given as randomly as the weather itself, they still kept believing because they couldn't deal with the sense of powerlessness otherwise. And then they began to use those imaginary religious ideas to look for differences in other people and use that as justification to kill, abuse, conquer, or enslave them. And instead of feeling guilty about their treatment of their fellow humans, they made up more stories about how they were "special" to God and deserved more of the earth resources. And here we are today, still making those same hideous mistakes that people were making thousands of years ago- all based fantasies about an imaginary man who lives in the sky.”

mixmaster g replied on Nov 27, 2009 at 20:26:48

“dum-b

those who want you to disbelieve tell you this non sense; truth is people are more backward now than they ever were when prophets were being sent

now people dont even realize (in the western world) what marriage or family is---no such problem when the great religions were born

people now (in western world) want to have surgery to mangle themselves surgically and become monstrosities pretending to be the opposite gender etc”

“Religion is the cyanide of the masses”

Osama Akhtar replied on Nov 27, 2009 at 16:23:06

“First of all, it is not about an 'imaginary man who lives in the sky.' It is common sense. Pure logic. God is NOT a man. Who do you think controls the Earth, stars, vast space, the universe, etc? The big bang and the creation of the universe is NOT by accident. Prophets didn't come to tell people tales and entrance them. Religions are NOT farce. They came with a simple message. There is only one God. What...death, the weather? So, you think you can make sense of death? Why a person gets saved by lightning one second and dies from a car the next? Why a person can stay alive after falling from a 7-foot tall story building but die after a car hit him (which has actually happened)? This is death. Not coincidence. If you think YOU can make sense of death, you're a fool/ Death can come at ANY moment. We cannot stop it. Yes, it's true. Weather comes from wind patterns. But questions like why does the sun exist? What made it? After all, even a person like you can't deny things make themselves. My pizza last night didn't come by MAGIC. Things ALL have a source. Even the weather. Even death. Even the universe.”

sanileo replied on Nov 27, 2009 at 16:10:52

“" People couldn't make sense of death and the weather, so they had to make up an invisible man in the sky that they could appeal to for help"

isnt that what the freedom of religion of association is all about. that we can choose to believe is whatever we want. At least i don't believe that i existed out of nothing. and i wouldn't engage in an argument thereof.

what will be your explanation of death and the weather anyway?”
