“Yes! Now that makes sense. The rape threats are actually a reason to be upset, and the gender of the threatened person is really not all that relevant.
As far as the stuff about her being looked at as a sex object goes, I have a hard time seeing that is evidence of sexism. Male performers seem to get the same kind of treatment. In fact, women can get pretty aggressive themselves, especially when it comes to musicians.”
“He said it's a game of "possible" future events. Obviously since it hasn't happened yet. How does that excuse it in your mind? Really, I'm interested in how it works. Obviously he thinks Obama would like to do something like this.”

“Silly law. Most message boards have an option to delete posts. If they put something stupid up erasing it won't do much good. Things like that spread quickly on the net. It'll already be on thousands of hard drives by the time they change their mind, unless they do it immediately.”

“I thought Marquette was overreacting when they stopped calling themselves the Warriors. There's really nothing negative about it. Same with most native american team names. I think you could make a pretty convincing case that the Chiefs or the Seminoles names really are tributes. After all, the Vikings and the Irish aren't called what they are .

“No, being more famous doesn't justify treating other performers like that.
I think you did put your finger on what that was really about though. Homme was there to perform. They knew who he was. Giving him a full pat down wasn't needed for security reasons. It was just Jay Z acting big, letting them know where they rank next to him.”

“When was the first time you heard of security guards being issued facebooks of the talent for the event? Didn't you ever wonder why everyone has those backstage pass lanyards?”
