If you read my original post, i made no allusion to my "view of all AA's." what i simply pointed out is that the creation of jobs is secondary to addressing the social issues infecting our urban populace.
What i find ironic is that many AA's simply stereotype all caucasions as unsympathetic to AA issues, in much the same way many caucasions stereotype AA's.
You should be proud of being a good parent and achieving what you and your family have achieved. But just because a caucasion disagrees with a view or position of an AA, doesn't mean we fit the stereotype many AA's automatically assume we fit.”

“I did have a problem with BCosby rant. He got famous playing the stoopid ni### role entertaining mostly whites. And for him to come out now, in his old age and tell us how we should talk and dress, was a little much for me. He wouldn't shake Wanda Sykes hand at some award show I was watching . I thought it was rude and arrogant.. I wonder how many racist white people he refused to shake their hands. I don't disagree with every thing he said because I think a lot of what he said had merit. But I don't have to conform to what he believe. If I want to use slang with my friends that is my choice and part of our culture. Unlike Bill Cosby, I am not ashamed of my culture and I do not need to assimilate into his white world to be a worth while person. Our country have done and will continue to do some horrible things to people who aren't white males. Now you can continue to stick your head up you @$$ and say it isn't true, but that doesn't change the facts. After all, white people committed genocide on the Native Americans and today they are still treated as if they are INVADERS in THEIR OWN COUNTRY. If anyone had room to bitch it would be Native Americans. But since they killed off most of them , I guess it's just water under the bridge, right?? NOT!!!!!”

Do a little research on seminars, speeches, and the such that the people you've named (minus Cosby) have given to the AA community. They are NOT all about having government do everything. If you actually listened to their speeches that don't get covered by our sensationalized media, you'd know this.
And you also need to educate yourself on WHY there are some in the black community who have issues with Cosby's rant that he made a few years back. During his stint in the spotlight, he NEVER spoke on racial issues. Not racism, not discrimination, nothing. Then, all of a sudden, he's in a rage over black baby names, and baggy jeans. If you were a black leader and spent years trying to get a prominent black who has mass appeal to speak on these issues and they refused, then they pop up on some rant, you might take issue with that also.”

But to believe that increasing spending on education will magically correct the years of learned behavior from not having a solid male role model in the home is naive.

“Increased spending is only part of the solution.. .it cannot work alone. But try learning in a classrooms like I had in HS where there were 35 kids in a class, 30 desks, and 20 textbooks. Telling these children to change their attitude and behavior won't change that.
Trying to get many (not all) of these kids to see the value of an education is where we should start. Too many of them live in areas where they don't SEE what an education gets them. There's not much if any job opportunities in their areas. Too many of them live in areas where education is not their primary concern, but SURVIVAL is (and in some cases, by any means necessary).
So yes, infrastructure, at least in my opinion, IS a major issue that needs to be addressed. Teaching parents to be more responsible for how their children turn out is another issue that needs to be addressed. ..in any event, if we are being realistic, we should note that these issues probably won't get totally resolved in one generation.”

“Put the social programs in this bill. Look, you have some stats and you have some research but you don't understand the underlying issues you are quote stats about. For example, have you ever set foot in an inner city school? 34-40 kids in a class room, no leveling so in a typical 7th grade class you have 5 non readers, 5 gifted kids, and the rest falling along the spectrum. You also have five emotionally disturbed kids without wrap around so the class room is a madhouse. Money, for example doesn't help in situations like that you need infrastructure, smart classrooms of small sizes, tech for directed and differentiated learning, you don't need 2,000 dollars more a kid you need 25,000 more a kid or a couple rebuild of the system. Until you've spent time in the neighborhoods, until you've worked in the community you have no idea what you are talking about. I don't say that to be mean but seriously, there are lies, d a mn lies and statistics.”

Yes, we should get career criminals off the streets. But, I see no valid reason to perpetuate ownership of devices that are intended to - without reason - kill people. The great bulk of handguns sold in this country are never actually used for protection - yet more crimes are committed with handguns than rifles or shotguns. A shotgun is a far better weapon for home protection and is difficult to conceal.”

“Maybe all you NRA haters can answer this one for me:
If the NRA is only concerned with "arming people to the teeth" and does not care about "public safety, then why is it that anti-gun organizations think gun safety training is a conspiracy theory?:
The Eddie Eagle GunSafeĀ® Program teaches children in pre-K through third grade four important steps to take if they find a gun. These steps are presented by the program's mascot, Eddie EagleĀ®, in an easy-to-remember format consisting of the following simple rules: If you see a gun: STOP! Don't Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult.
As opposed to:
"The primary goal of the National Rifle Association's Eddie Eagle program is not to safeguard children, but to protect the interests of the NRA and the firearms industry by making guns more acceptable to children and youth."

Just as soon as you post proof that you are not beating your wife.
It is your assertion, it is your obligation to provide proof that they are running guns. You will not provide that proof because you know it is a lie.... and not a very good one either.”

Bet you get most of your info on the NRA from Josh Sugarmann and the VPC, huh? You know about them, right? The folks who brag about misleading the public to achieve their desired goal....”
