It doesn't excuse that he is greatly responsible (the buck stops with McCain) for her selection but there is a prop to be given for the fact that he signed on for a job, knew the job description, and tried to fulfill his duty. That's more than I can say for Palin who seemed to think that the ticket read "Palin-McCain 2008". It defeated the ticket, thank goodness.

The stakes were too high though. I'm remembering an article here from awhile back where John Edward's people became aware of the affair and his lies and the destruction he was about to unfurl.The­y'd decided it seems (though they argued about this later) that if he came too close to a primary win they'd themselves leak to the press because they knew this could throw the election should he be the candidate.­...so while I take your point and can admire that measure of the man I still can't respect Schmidt ultimately. I don't know about you but it took me all of 2 views of the woman talking and some reading up to know that Sarah Palin was totally unqualified. My grandfather died in 1963-two years before Medicare and two years before wiping my father's savings out for his 6 children to go to college (No student loans back then) plus more borrowed money. He took 2 jobs for many years to pay this debt off and we never saw him much after that.”

I am a liberal democrat and Obama supporter. As a liberal, I support free speech. Many people do not like big corporations -- I get it. But do not turn this into a witch hunt. If you don't like corporations then stop shopping at Target and driving Toyota and wearing Puma.

And don't buy health insurance. Health insurance is simply a payment mechanism for health care. You do not need health insurance. Doctors take cash, as well.

But of course, if you can not afford what doctor's charge, then you should consider a plan from Humana to help you pay for it.”
