Health Care Reform: Sifting Through the Suboptimal Solutions

Health Care Reform: Sifting Through the Suboptimal Solutions

Commented Dec 12, 2009 at 00:16:21 in Politics

“We could afford any expense concerning healthcare upgrades and reforms if we were to build just a couple fewer B2 bombers. To say "we can't afford it" is to succumb to tunnel vision about defense spending which is too large by any rational measure.”

Is Anybody Still Surprised by Joe Lieberman?

Commented Oct 28, 2009 at 15:00:27 in Politics

“This might be the ultimate test for Sen. Reid. If he caves yet again, and can't control the Dems in a vital situation like this, he should not be the leader.”

Prudens replied on Oct 28, 2009 at 15:28:58

“I think you are being unfair to Reid. No Democrat can control Lieberman.”

Elle Bach replied on Oct 28, 2009 at 15:24:17

“This is the "ultimate test" for the country. No strong public option, no more faith in our system of government. We need to endure a long process of reorganiztion, the first priority of which will be campaign finance.”

“This is a bogus comment. Unless, of course, by "constituents" you are referring to the insurance companies. The real constiuents, the people, want the option in their healthcare package.”

“Ask Bill Mahr

Why, then, did Bush and Cheney have to dispose themselves to the 9/11 Commission they didn't want, TOGETHER, and off the record? Why didn't they remove the good stuff out of WTC 7 before they pulled it?”

Moarku replied on Sep 11, 2009 at 23:10:58

“Well you see, because Will Smith once had this show called "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and ummm... Cheney and Bush weren't really cast members and uhhh... it took place on the other side of the country as WTC 7 and several years before... well anyway, in this movie Will Smith is playing a different character from the show, but... um...

What's the Big Deal?

Commented Aug 26, 2009 at 20:58:27 in Politics

“I am fed up with Obama's facile adage to "look forward" instead of looking back. It is a flawed concept. If this country is ever to regain any semblance of moral standing, we must indict, try and punish those who are guilty of lawbreaking. Obama cannot himself "move forward" if he remains complicit.”

hangdogit replied on Aug 26, 2009 at 22:12:34

“Had McCain won, would the same brouhaha have happened?

He was born in Panama. Which is not a state in the US.”

chiara12 replied on Jul 31, 2009 at 11:02:26

“No it would not have happened because during the campaign, when all the whispering began about questions of his birth, the Democrats, more specifically, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, went back to the Senate and passed a very short measure or proclamation specifically stating that John McCain is a natural born citizen. End of story. They had the grace and integrity to do that for him and put everything to rest.

Do any of the Republican have any of that same integrity? NO! Does John McCain reciprocate with the same gesture? NO! They are all willing to let this brew and fester and leach into the mainstream. It is the lowest of the low.”

donttasemebro replied on Jul 31, 2009 at 10:45:53

“No. Democrats had the decency to introduce legislation in the senate last year that stated that John McCain was indeed a natural born citizen. Contrast that with Republican behavior right now, and you can clearly see who the adults are in our government.”

JFK and the Unspeakable

Commented Jul 24, 2009 at 15:51:22 in Politics

“"If there is any other proof to the contrary, then bring it forward, if not, move on."

So said someone, above.

A lot of people had other proof, but they were all killed. Or died mysteriously.

LBJ ordered the Warren Commission not precisely to find whodunnit, but to ascertain that there wasn't a conspiracy. That was their job. The real truth, as in 9/11, is, apparently, too scary to contemplate.

The Warren Comission findings are almost as flawed as the 9/11 Commission's.

We really can't "move on" without the truth.”

stopbush replied on Jul 24, 2009 at 17:53:10

“Funny how all those people who were supposedly killed because they had information about the JFK killing were all killed AFTER they had blabbed their info to investigators and CT authors.

What's the point of that? Retribution for telling the truth? I woulda thought the point was to kill them off BEFORE they spilled the beans on the CT.

BTW - if people are killed all the time for having information about the JFK killing that the sinister forces don't want out there, then why haven't any of the major JFK CT authors met an untimely death at the hands of these nefarious people? Seems to me that the JFK CT authors would be the first names on the hit lists of the scary powers that be, but last I looked, they're all alive and collecting royalties. Why is that?

...crickets...”

BillDarryl replied on Jul 24, 2009 at 16:34:34
