“Isn't Capitalism grand? You can get these pharmaceutical companies to give "incentives" and "prizes" to doctors who peddle their poisons without any oversight or regulation. You can publicly invest and trade Big Pharma Stock Options. Then MTV comes along and hires an addiction specialist to build a television show around faded D-List celebrities battling for sobriety and it is offered as entertainment to make money for companies that sell toothpaste, car insurance, etc. to a morally bankrupt and bored populace. Adam Smith had no idea!”

“actually, the show was created to create an incentive for these celebrities to enter treatment whose lives were at risk. He's talked about that point before on Loveline. Dr. Drew is a board certified physician. How ignorant comments like yours are being accepted into view, I have no idea.”
“Before speaking up, let's examine the US Constitution, shall we? Below is section 4 of Amendment 14 (ratified 1868).
4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts
incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or
rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall
assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against
the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such
debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Well, phrase "authorized by laws" above is a key. If there a laws on the book making US government (a.k.a. Americans) to pay its debt then there could be a legal argument for it. But if there isn't, I'm not sure if 14th Amendment would apply.”
“Actually, I get what Medicare doesn't pay paid for by Medicaid as does my husband, severely disabled by a stroke receives Home Attendant Services. Not everyone in Social Security gets Medicare especially if they weren't able to work enough quarters. Do some research before you smart off to people.”

“We didn't. They are glad we did not. Happy ending. :)”

“If you're a baby and don't want to be snipped, tell your parents.., oh wait, you don't have the linguistic or motor skills to do that yet so maybe the parents should wait until you do, so you can decide for yourself.
Or maybe they'll do what their imaginary friend in the sky tells them to do regardless of what is best for baby.”
“Boo hoo. I'm sure your kids will console themselves at the mall with their own credit cards as they enjoy themselves by the pool. Imagine if you had to really work hard to try to feed your kids on dwindling money!”
“So then, let's end these damn wars. The War Against Terror can never truly succeed. History has shown that there has been terrorism as long as there are humans. America needs to be spoon fed lies about "safety" and "security" while corporations bankrupt us and feed on the poor.”
“There will be no savings from stopping the war now for several years. We are in a massive debt. I don't trust Ron Paul either. I don't trust any of these men to do anything but make themselves rich. The Power has to come from the People. Massive Non-Violent Civil Disobedience until the war ends and the Rich are taxed accordingly. More social programs and civil projects, more jobs for the people, health care and peace.”
“There is no satan, dear. Labeling him some kind of monster outside of the human realm is excusing humanity of its own shortcomings. When we see that people are capable of these behaviors, maybe we can start acting more responsible about things like gun laws. To see these people as demons or monsters absolves humanity of the blame and shifts the responsibility on some supernatural agent.”
