How To 'Fix' The Sunday Morning Shows

How To 'Fix' The Sunday Morning Shows

“The MSM wouldn't support a show that makes their other shows look bad AND question the Authority of the guests. This is because the MSM is owned by the same people who support the views of the guests. That is why totally discredited people still get airtime. It's a hard concept, but it's all theater. The people who own the theater support the objectives of the guests. If they didn't they wouldn't let them use the theater.”

“I agree... but since the MSM is the vehicle provided to the message givers you couldn't have a show which fact checks. It would defeat the whole purpose now wouldn't it.”

RTIII replied on Dec 30, 2009 at 04:25:53

“You're making a different argument. And, while I think we're on the same page, you're not making it particularly well. I _think_ you're trying to say that you think the idea of the new show would not be supported by the MSM for structural reasons. OK, fair enough, but I didn't limit in my expression of the idea the implementation purely by those who are set against it...

“It's time for an official certification system for pundits. They can be allowed 3 areas of expertise and after 3 errors in any one they lose the certification. They then have to be re-certified at a very high price. Example - George Will. He is a professed expert in every topic and should have be de-certified years ago. He just keeps finding new topics to be wrong in. De-certify Will and have him have to pass a very expensive test prepared by qualified experts before he can pundit again. Two de-certifications and you need to find a new line of work. Will should be flipping burgers by now.

These pundits make mistakes, lie and are bought off while at the same time they sway public opinion. These people cause wars and damage to the needs and will of the people. License and certify them.”

“Not a single person will appear on this show. Why would they..there is nothing in for them. I think a fact check Wednesday is a good idea, but you see by Wednesday the damage is done and the Meme get cemented. You can call anyone a socialist or make up stuff on Sunday and by Wednesday the lie is fact. When legend becomes fact - print the legend.”

“...I slightly mis-spoke; the MSM generally knows these people are telling the truth, they just won't give the truth-tellers air time.
.”

RTIII replied on Dec 29, 2009 at 21:33:32

“I disagree. All the people I know "on the left" would LOVE to get on such a show because they are already in the habit of telling the truth with no one in the MSM to believe them. I wouldn't mind it if all the guests were left-leaning for however long it took for "those on the right" to come around and stop with the whoppers.

The comment I was referencing was:

Christian cure for lonliness - ice cream social.

yeah let's bash on the Christians some more."

Oh and by the way the name is Muffler. If you have anything more to say try using my name. Have a happy new year.”

They don't have any secret knowledge or extra perception. They want attention and to feel important. Stop, Think, Imagine and you will see the truth. Reality is you.”

“What BS. Have you been to Nigeria? Yeah - there is an Ice Cream shop on every corner and all you have to do is get in your family car, fill up at the gas station and drive over to the window. If you don't have the time you can pick up Ice Cream in the super market next to the coffee station where they make espresso for you while you wait. All this works out well as long as gangs of teenagers with AK-47s don't blow you away or the government doesn't arrest your dad (if you have one) for talking to the press about the oil companies polluting the water and paying off the officials. Oh did I forget if you have a house? How about a hut and and some food to make through the day. So you're American Christian fundie versus Nigerian Fundie comparison almost works. Kind of like Timothy McViegh.”

“Yeah - screws with them in a crazy way that any religion taken to the fundie level does. It's all about power and making your followers are powerless. Then you can make them do what you want. They lash out because not only do they feel powerless, but their world is poor and without hope. Jihad is their vision of hope. They see it as a way to feel that their life is important and means something. Is it about being muslim or poor, treated inhumanly, abused and with no self-respect, I think we know the answer cause we have seen it here in the US. Poor, abused and no-self respect is an opening for fundamentalism or any religion.”

“Every time I see a news clip or an article I look up the sponsoring corporation. If it's one of Murdock's I don't bother reading it.

Murdock's business model is based on controversy and lies. He uses the media not as a public service, but as a personal and corporate mouthpiece disguised as a public service. It actually reports itself doing public good. I say Time Warner should drop them because int he end they will just charge me for the price the pay and I don't watch them anyway.”

“They do when the go international as backup. Domestic travel is different. Additionally they do fly one of the limos and a ton of gear and security people on other aircraft. This doesn't include all the preparations made before the Pres. arrives. It's a huge effort, but it's done all the time like clockwork.

Regarding people who come her to complain all of a sudden because they hate Obama and just keep looking for things... this has been done for every president and it is part of the coverage that comes with being the elected head of the United States. I would be more concerned about all the money wasted by Bush on Iraq. Now a Trillion dollars is real money.”

Crowley acknowledged the similarity between the pieces but denied the allegation.”

“Monica Crowley is one of the angriest pundits around. Watching her is an attack on ones basic senses and morals. The right wing applies the high school bully approach applied to life.

1- Don't want to do talk about something... call it stupid.
2 - Don't want to address a situation....ignore or offer nothing.
3 - Called out on behavior...pretend outrage and respond with finger pointing (away from themselves).
4 - Guilty of causing damage or a crime...blame someone else and pretend outrage while avoiding responsibility.
5 - If someone needs help and it won't make you look good...don't help those trying to help so they look bad or fails.

Katie must have been on to something if they needed Monica to say anything about it. FOX is a danger to our country.”

“The problem here is that these "American" companies are owned by international funds. They have little regard of "patriotic" interest other than what is necessary to keep the image of such. They have no interest in helping Americans and America to be stronger and better. They have short term goals of grabbing the wealth built up over the last 200 years. When that is gone these "American" companies will scoot to the next place that can "defend" them. Used to be a give and take. Employment and American growth for profit, image and security of the owners. The owners lived here and a stake in the future of their country. Not anymore. The jobs aren't coming back, the "service economy" was a scam (saw that one) and health cost too much of the profit. Americans... take off the rose colored glasses... look around. You have been trained to be consuming machines that make less and less real stuff. Sooner rather then later it is going to come crashing down. Start demanding lobbies out of Washington, removal of gerrymandering districts, Fraud proof voting machines, accountability with jail time from politicians, de-monopolization of the media and stop buying foreign made stuff where you can.”

“It so sad that everyone argues left wing and right wing. The truth is the whole system is bad and the people actually making the new laws are bought by the insurance companies. Since taking on the insurance companies is of the table there will never be a real good solution. You cannot have compulsory subscription to insurance without regulations on the companies involved. Otherwise it's just increasing the premium pool while allowing the companies to continue to skim the top. No wonder the price of their stock is up this week.

I still wonder why americans shy away from copying know systems like Taiwan and don't see anything wrong with drug companies charging the highest prices in the States and preventing us from going elsewhere if we can (mail order outside the US)... that would be real capitalism. They profess capitalism, but want control at all levels. They don't want to have to compete with each other because then they would have to be innovative and customer oriented.”
