“"The governor understands that not everyone who is dependent on taxpayer dollars is 'able-bodied,' but he does believe that everyone, regardless of their ability or physical condition, can contribute to society in a meaningful way," spokeswoman Adrienne Bennett said. "Liberal activists are determined to increase the number of residents who take tax dollars by expanding the size of government and the benefits government workers get and increasing the welfare rolls."
1. Tell a lie
2. Get called about it
3. Release this statement which ends in another overstated lie.
4. Repeat as necessary”
“My friends weren't getting paid and are unsure if they will get backpay. Congress has to authorize and have not...yet.
My cousin was deemed to have a critical job and was never furloughed. He worked without pay.”

“sorry about that but they will pass a bill to pay your cousin and friends who did work. I can promise you I called IRS for a critical matter and was told they are not available due to shut down.
I also worry if and when they do get back what it will do to the backlog and overtime to catch up etc. All I see the current effort has done is increase pain for lot of people including govt employees and its customers like me”
“What you say is true for Obamacare, but has nothing to do with what I posted. By the way are you so silly as to believe the young and healthy are going to comit to several thousand dollars a year in premiums just for the priviledge of covering the health costs of their better-off elders?”
“The premiums won't be as high! My friend called the help line yesterday and found that premiums are far less than COBRA...which she couldn't afford to pay to keep herself insured as she loses her job on Friday. This LAW is in place to help the working poor. People who make minimum wage. (Try living on $7.25 an hour for 35 hours a week.) Please don't blindly drink the GOP/Teaparty kool-aid on this subject. Those people are in the pockets of insurance companies who fear this LAW. If they're scared, it must be a step in the right direction.”

“If it's for the working poor then that's who the law should have covered. You don't rebuild your whole house just because a couple of window screens are missing.”
“"A plan nobody likes" you are absolutely right. I don't like it because it doesn't go far enough. Why should some insurance fat cat get a profit off medical care? Why is America's healthcare the most expensive yet ranks 38th in quality of care? (World Health Organization) Nearly half (48%) of Americans have no health insurance...well, at least until today.”
JB Dean on Oct 1, 2013 at 01:48:47
“Are you so silly that you believe those 48% of people that didn't have healthcare yesterday somehow magically have it today? The fact is if they didn't want it bad enough to pay a hefty premium for it yesterday they aren't going to want it bad enough to pay an even higher premium for it tomorrow under Obamacare.”
“With regard to DOMA, I applaud the decision not to waste money defending a law that was clearly unconstitutional. As to the Dreamers, the only law they broke was crossing a line on the hip of their parents. They had no intent to break the law. In the meantime, they've grown up as Americans, steeped in our culture, receiving an American education. They will pay us back by becoming taxpaying citizens. Their diversity has already enriched this country. Let Them Stay.
And yes, I am more concerned with the behavior on a Congressman who is willfully encouraging actions that are unconstitutional. The first amendment protects the free speech of religious entities. However if they want to become political, they have to pay taxes. The encouragement of illegal acts by a man who promised to uphold the Constitution is reprehensible. If he's so concerned how bout he tries to legislate change...you know, do his job?”
“That article was posted over a year ago. In the meantime the Obama administration has deported more illegals than the W. administration...in less time. And DOMA was shot down as unconstitutional by the most conservative SCOTUS in recent memory. I'm less worried about those issues than Representative King urging religious organizations to ignore the conditions they agreed to when applying for their tax exempt status.”

“A year old article with same policy is irrelevant? DOMA was law up til that time while he was Pres. Of course you are not concerned what the Pres does and more concerned what a Rep. of Iowa does. Which has more power? FYI the IRS is still targeting Tparty with secondary screenining.”
“I don't think anybody will defend this so called excuse for a human.”

“Don't underestimate the bleedingest of the bleeding hearts. I had someone call me sick for advocating the rape of this loser yesterday. Granted, it's not the nicest sentiment in the world, but in his case, it's well deserved. But there's always one who wants to give the losers a second chance.”
