The reason the bank profits are so high is that they did not lend out the money they received from the taxpayers. They used it to take advantage of the markets to make obscene profits, that and the suspension of mark-to-market accounting rules which allows the bank to book false profits by not recognizing the true value of their toxic investments. As well as their use of computer trading programs that steals money from the markets, by front running the orders of their big customers and taking profits between the bid and ask prices. Goldman Sachs now accounts for 40 to 70% of total market volumes via their High Frequency Trading computers, co-located at the trading exchanges so they they can execute an order milliseconds before anyone else.

In plain language the banks crashed the entire financial system via mortgage back securities based on ban loads the banks endorsed so they could create more fees from breaking up the bad mortgages into derivatives and selling them off a AAA investments. Individual bankers will receiveing HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN BONUSES, just months after they were bailed out by the taxpayers.

The bank also raise fees and interest rates on credit cards and pulled lines of credit from from small business.

The action of the banks shows how much they really hate their customers, which is only overshadowed by your stupidity.”
