“Perhaps the plan is to bring us back to how it was in Medieval Europe. Except now in the 21st century, the new kings and queens are the top 1 % and Wall Street, etc. The rest of us are just lowly peasants fighting over whatever scraps they throw at us. I'm wondering what'll take to have a "French Revolution" in America? It would be nice if the middle class and the poor could team up and lead a revolt, but I don't see it happening.
The new rulers know this and are laughing at us. As long as we're distracted, this keeps them doing their dirt. They used to be sneaky about it, but now they're doing it right out in the open. Funny how the Koch Brothers' crowd & co. scream how they alone are "true patriots" but it seems that their loyalty lies with "green" first and the American people last.”

“Yes, that potential class warfare is why Republicans continually try to divide us like between public employee unions and non-unions, Muslim and Christian, and rich and poor. Thanks for your comment.”
“If you worry more about whats between a candidates legs than the real issues
Here's the thing, what if the best candidate is a woman? Why is it that countries such as Israel, Argentina, Brazil, UK, Phillippines, India had women leaders?”

“....and how much aid does the United States give each of these countries you mentioned? Too darn much,Nuff said. I would vote for a woman if she is the best candidate, I just don't think it is correct to vote for a lady so we can say we have had our first female president, thats well past stupid. When you do that, you end up with a do-nothing prez like we have now. Charasmatic, yes. Well spoken, yes. Intelligent, yes. Half black, yes. Running the country into the ground, also yes. World leader, hell no.”
“How do you know? Everything isn't always so black and white. I have a friend who is a Republican and she told me that despite what her other fellow conservatives think, she believes that there should be some regulation in some areas. When I get into it with some people about illegal immigration I get accused of being a con because us lefties are supposed to think the same way.”
“...but don't you see those were the good old days.! Women knew their place in the homes and had a warm plate waiting for the husband and the coloreds knew their place. There was no sex before marriage--birth control just lets women be w/h/o/r/e/s. Stupid liberals with their women's movement, sexual revolution, and civil rights.
The country's been going downhill ever since. And it's all because of stupid, bratty, whiny liberals. Since you liberals like to complain so much about how bad this great country is, why don't you go move to China!!!
“I used to be a script reader and I came across too many bad ones, but there were a few good ones as well. Unfortunately the too many bad ones get made because it's all about the $$$. Hollywood's golden era has been over for years and I hate to say, but I even feel that some of the indie films are starting to lack some substance--as opposed to maybe a decade ago or so. Just my opinion.”
“...and also because we have various distractions to keep us controlled and 'happy"--i.e. ipad, etc and we've also been conditioned to think that we're helpless. Funny how we're afraid of our government, but why is it that the government in certain countries, i.e. France are afraid of their people? Shouldn't it be like that here?”

“Well government is there for the people, not the other way around.
Well said muse.”
“As far as what this Psychologist was inferring...how often do you see a black woman with a white man?
Although it does seem more common to see white women w/ black men I think things are changing and I think it depends on the location. In NYC, I saw white guys with black women(one of my exes was white and the guy I dated after that was from France) and when I was in London, I also saw the same.
What I do find interesting is that I'm always getting hit on by guys from Denmark, Sweden, and Germany...rarely by white American guys and I'm American.”
“Nope. Ignorance is ignorance. In grad school, I had a roommate who was getting a PhD that said, "The other Asians on this floor don't seem to act like that"--when my then Korean roommate disagreed with something that she was doing.
They just use their degrees to justify their biases.”
“Agreed. I remember some years ago, some scientist was peddling around the theory that blacks were less intelligent because of the size of our brains. WTF? It's kind of sickening that in this day and age that some people still don't recognize us human beings.”
“Not sure if it has anything to do with "American culture". I think it goes a beyond that. I have friends from other countries, i.e. Latin America, Phillippines, India, etc...and they said that people that have darker skin are considered low on the totem pole. Even during Shakespeare's time they were pushing the idea that being "Fair" was considered beautiful and I remember that Shakespeare wrote a sonnet in response to this ideal of how his mistress had dark skin and he found beauty in that. Can't remember the sonnet, but I remember discussing this in one of my classes.”

“Thank-you! I recently turned 30 and I never got that "gotta get married bug" If it happens it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Won't be the end of the world for me. On a similar note, people also look at you funny if you say that you don't want any kids....”

“I'm 66 and have been with my "significant other" for 26 years. He's amused I don't want to run to the altar but I just don't see how it benefits either of us to do so. My sister is 56 and never married. She just didn't want children and she never found anyone she wanted to spend her life with. She's a brilliant, successful woman with more friends than she can count and she's very, very happy. I simply don't get this mantra of "you have to get married and you have to have children." It doesn't make any sense! This is the 21st century! Do what you feel will make YOU happy! If it is marriage and/or children, so be it. If it is not, that's okay too!”
“Lately, though the cons think that "freedom" and "rights" are only limited to those that belong to the masculine gender --what group of people have been trying to pass bills through that are trying to push back U.S. women to the 18th century? What gives people the right to tell a woman what she should or shouldn't do with her OWN body?”
