“I get it, you're obviously not Mexican.
Hold on, then it says ..." He went on to say that he himself is half-Mexican (but, apparently, he doesn't look it)"...

Okay, so you don't look it - but you have the bloodline and yet you think border patrol was wrong to not assume?

And what about another popular scenario, the one which says we need border patrol to keep out possible terrorists - are you saying only dark skinned people can be terrorists? Glad your not in charge.

Wow, just say your sorry, we all make mistakes.”

“Thank you for article, just last week I was asking friends, didn't it seem like a lot of people were checking out recently. YOU DID FORGET ONE, on the same day as Mary Travers — HENRY GIBSON - the American character actor who came to fame in the 1960s and more recently played a cantankerous judge on television's Boston Legal, died. He was 73.”

“Toddausaurus—
You read Obama's change message as a problem because you are happy with the way things are, and anyone who isn't, is just un-American. Such comments perfectly reflect the McCain/GOP positioning. Why do so many Americans want change, what is their problem, and why would a black American woman have to remind us of the inequalities she's faced - isn't it enough that she got to where she is because it's America? The imperfections of the last 8 years of Washington means we need a no nonsense leader—SO WHO IS THAT? The McCAIN/GOP definition of leadership seems to be one who "dictates" the will of one side, as opposed to one who inspires opposing sides to find common ground and move forward—and that does take courage, for all of us. Being DEEP & COURAGEOUS means working in PARTNERSHIP with OURSELVES and the WORLD at large for the common good—not just for the CONSERVATIVES, the RELIGIOUS RIGHT and the NRA! PEACE, PROSPERITY, JUSTICE, and DEMOCRACY FOR ALL. —THESE ARE AMERICAN VALUES!”

Hillary Clinton To Suspend Campaign Saturday

Commented Jun 05, 2008 at 01:55:04 in Politics

“Quickest way to extinguish Barack's campaign - pick senator Clinton for V.P.

Don't tell me how similar their platforms are, these two are as different as the campaigns they ran.

Opposite paradigms

Don't believe the pundits who say Hillary wants it for the people who supported her. Lost in the web of her own deceptions, truth is she just wants the White House. The position closest to the Presidency the better—because as she told us, you never know, things happen. The last few months have revealed her voracious appetite for power, she would never settle - she's not a back seat driver. She will be a thorn in Barack's side and do everything to finally prove that she's "the better leader".”

Swift2 replied on Jun 05, 2008 at 02:12:20

“God, I hate you people, who think you know the inner workings of a mind far larger that yours. She ran a crappy campaign only because Obama ran a much better one.

She's a Democrat and she got nearly half the votes. Right down to the end she was winning votes. She just came up short. Did Gephardt win votes until the end? Did Dean last long after the scream? His funding dried up and he blew away.

It's not for your bizarre idea of ideological purity. It's because the Democratic Party is larger than you or I. It's because some concession to Hillary will mean a concession to her voters. I don't know if it's the vice presidency, or some other role she could throw herself into whole-heartedly. It's interesting how promiscuous the Huffpoers are about news sources -- like that story that the veep slot is unlikely because Bill won't disclose his finances? He's been disclosing them all along, at a faster rate than any recent president. If Hillary had gotten the nomination, he would have stepped up the pace. Same for the vice presidency. What's the source of this brilliant "story"? Why, Rupert's Wall Street Journal of course. Any old source if it trashes the Clintons.”

If Hillary and her shameless political tactics get her the nomination - I will still write in for Obama.”

“my2scents - LOL - I'm always so offended that the msm only talks about the disenfranchised white blue collar worker that Obama can't relate to. It's almost as if the black blue collar worker does not count at all. We all know that Hillary has lost a whole bloc of the voting public. No one ever asks her how she expects to win without the whole voting bloc of AA. She cannot. For some reason she seems to think that they will automatically just come back to her. Very doubtful if she steals the nomination! So, I guess what we all see or hear depends on whose axe is being gored.”

“Well you are in denial and can stay in denial as long as you choose. One thing for sure...irrespective of what you think of Rev Wrights sermons and rhetoric, Rev Wright has more integrity than Obama. Obama used Rev Wright to further his political ambition. He joined Rev Wrights church to run for the state senate... he needed votes, he needed Rev Wright. Now that he is running for President it was not politically convinient to have Rev Wright around. The man who claims to disdain politics as usual, and politicians is the worst of it's kind. Rev Wright has every right to be angry. Thank you revered for exposing Obama for what he is. A politician who would sell a family member to get ahead. Obama has done more to damage race relations than any other politician in decades. It's time for Obama to wrap up and salvage race relations if he really believes in what he has us believe.”

“A long time ago, I heard someone say in response to the needs of minorities (ANY kind) that it should be up to the minority to define what it is they need.

Sean Hannity targeted what he saw — and revealed his ignorance. Pastor Wright's approach, will change as the need changes. Your response Mr. Ridley, provides the kind of "constructive critisim" needed to help clarify our journey as a nation together, towards recovery from racism. The kind of recovery that Barack Obama so clearly stated for all of us to unite in.

In fact, the proof that Pastor Wright's sermons weren't about advocating hatred, is Mr. Uniter himself, Obama.”

CivilDisobedient replied on Apr 26, 2008 at 16:25:25

Like bringing up old racial issues that no longer exist on a governmental level??? How does this "unite," anyone????

This lack of "star treatment", is also reflective of how we love to idolize and then tear them down if we think they believe (or do) that they are better than us.

Lastly, in spite of his mistake - I still believe Wesley to be an admirable person. My hope is that he will grow from this, rather then fall more deeply. I'll be sending my best thoughts and wishes.”

Rest your "hopes" on your own damned value, and make sure the government does only a few important things; defends us, provides laws we live by, provides quality education (with little outside interference), protects the environment, and a basic safety net for those who hit hard times.

That is what MUST be done, and even McCain agrees on those issues.

So debate on national health care, and evacuating Iraq in less time than the other candidate...

Hillary enjoyed a 16 year name advantage, family roots, to her own credit 35 yrs of experience, decaded of political favors and friends to call on.

Why is Hillary only 24 superdelegates ahead?
Why is the Clinton machine/Hillary millions in debt?
Why didn't Hillary knock Obama out on Super Tuesday?
Why didn't Hillary win her birth state of Illinois?

WHY CAN'T HILLARY CLOSE THE DEAL W/ 35 YRS OF EXPERIENCE, A MACHINE, POLITICAL CONNECTIONS, AND A PRESIDENT BEHIND HER?

“I love the list of states where Obama won by a landslide and add that in Kansas, where Obama beat HIllary with 74%, the turnout was something like 10 times the usual turnout for a caucus and that is with thousands of people turned away because the caucus locations could not handle the crowds and people could not find parking, much less get in with the long lines.

I want to know why, with the micro-analysis of the Pennsylvania primary results, I have not seen one report on this statistic:

How many Republicans reregistered as Democrats to vote in Pennsylvania's primary? That would be extremely interesting to know.”
