Frederic Mitterrand, French Minister, Fights For Job After Boasts Of Sex With Young Boys

Commented Oct 09, 2009 at 22:29:24 in World

“Having abstained from commenting for a while, i return to a burning topic. Ouch, are French morals on the platter today? With a side order of international mores...I'll take mine rare please.
Politics and sex have much in common with money; they find the weakness in the foundation to penetrate the subject. So why is there an uproar about personal lives of appointed officials of one country, when there is rampant corruption in the halls of most local institutions?

Mr Mitterand has come to the defense of a cinematographer of dubious character, yes. The French minister of arts and culture was defending the artistic record, not the one instance of behavior of Mr Polanski.

As the public is engaged in attacking sexual mores, many will lose jobs and health due to useless distraction; let us please focus on our own morals, take care of our own, wherever that may be, whomever they may be.”

“The term "ugly" has been used in determining the value of an individual singer, as if talent had qualificative determinations.
Oh how i hurt for this lively performer, Susan Boyle. Ugly is the seller of voice without personality worth.
Ugly is the dissection or divorce of capability versus appearances.
All Character actors can prove the inherent value of their best features in film and stage productions. All pretty sisters can show that in some instance, they are not as lucky as other less endowed siblings. external beauty is an incomplete precept at best.

Just look in the eyes of the performer and beauty is fully evident, the hope is flaming and triumphant in her whole body, may voices rise in a more meritorious value system, think lovely, think enchanting, good!”

Do Lap Dances and Humiliation Treat ADHD -- and Should Public Schools Pay?

Commented Apr 19, 2009 at 22:52:20 in Living

“Few will doubt the love of parents, except perhaps the child who is being incarcerated away from family and friends.
Many do believe that the teen would not have lived in the terrible circumstances of peer pressure and debauchery in social circles.
So in the light of the tremendous importance of therapeutic needs, all concerned people must support the actual supervision and study of the institutions which claims to save children.

Many parents have lost the strength to raise children, through emotional or lifestyle issues. Children who suffer from low self-esteem and scholastic failure, or drug problems become the last straw on their family's weakened system. So much help is needed to empower them.

A solid scientific overview of this new industry is indeed needed to re-assure parents, my compliments on your support of your child, and as you educate yourself, you can add this new strength to your family and others.”

said my child would have been dead in a ditch and my child laughed. HELLO
I SAID i sent him there to save his life and I meant it.”

Do Lap Dances and Humiliation Treat ADHD -- and Should Public Schools Pay?

Commented Apr 19, 2009 at 22:38:32 in Living

“Ah! the success conflict; my way is better than your way...unfortunately both sides of the therapeutic approach to teen problems are accurate.

Yes, there is evidence of abuse and misrepresentation in such reforming schools; just as there is in the other corrective or punitive institutions; how else would the believers of firm hand treatment sell their system to the needy parents?

Yes there are the well meaning guardians who trust that their wayward child would never have lived through the teen years without the help of a lock-down facility and the apparent care of such strong staff.

So, the author, Maia Szalavitz is offering the prospect of ensuring proper monitoring of such institutions, from scientific data to sifting of claims and pronouncements. Just as advertisement is monitored on a baby's car seat or warnings are printed on a ladder. Truth in advertising with all its petty implications can work in the case of correctional education.

Buyer beware! when desperate families farm out their beloved children to remedial hope, they need to know what really is involved there.”

do set book down and wash hands properly before throwing the family's chicken leftover bones into the slow cooker, add herbs and onion and garlic, salt and pepper, cover with water.
sit in best chair, on sundeck or den, plug in music, pretend to read until asleep.
upon waking, pour rest of wine in the stewpot, simmer for remainder of day.

Mom Does Not Always Know Best

Commented Nov 07, 2008 at 20:39:39 in Green

“The Nielsen ratings demonstrate what i have observed here in the Midwest and elsewhere as well.
No matter how much information gets spread about nutrition, most shoppers will not buy the best for their family, but rather the most convenient, the quickest, the latest and the prettiest. Appeal varies by color, packaging and social trends
.
Food waste has not subsided with the economic downturn, choices have been limited. Ready snacks and frozen goodies are still piled high on most mom's carts. Plastic reigns untouched. Chartreuse and Puce, Orange day-glow and High yellow catch the eye of the children who tyranize the budget.

Television dictates, children anticipate; and harried, worried mothers actuate the purchase, often against their will or best judgment. I hear the bickering; the classic battle of it's good for you and i want this.
Who is in charge here? Who has given up the sensible reins for the slim purse strings?”

“Improving insulation would indeed reduce the need for costly and polluting energy.
Eating less large animals would require less water thirsty corn feed, and leave more land resources to healthier vegetable fare. Smaller animals convert protein more effectively.
As for transportation, using public buses/trains or ride shares would clean the air and the pockets. Bicycling and walking habits could also reduce the need for medical intervention.
How often we miss the easy solutions while looking for panacea to the troubled modern conscience.

i was surprised to see the low ratings, for adjust thermostat since such a simple move would help the health of the individual as well as that of the air quality indoors and out. I like sweaters and blankets, fresh air and radiant heat! a cozy winter and a quiet pillow to all...”

“How about shutting off all of the lights in Vegas? Or "motivating" big factories to insulate and reduce energy use. (Disclaimer: I worked for an auto factory and witnessed energy wastage on a grand scale! My home conservation efforts for a year wouldn't equal the waste of one hour of the factory.)

Our whole lifestyle needs revamping to reconcile our reliance on CHEAP (oil) energy. Funny thing though, solar and wind is essentially free. Sure there are costs involved but so is there with building gas/coal/oil/uranium fired powerplants. Economies of mass scale will bring costs into line, all we need is a "boost" from our collective efforts (aka - tax revenues). The only catch is that the most powerful men/women in the world have oil profits to lose.”

in a society bent on processing, prolonging, preserving and profiting, i find that the daily opportunity is largely missed because of industrial abundance. Perhaps lesson will be taught as a result of the recession. Don't kill all the dandelions yet!

10 Paths to Green Citizenry

Commented Oct 14, 2008 at 19:18:59 in Green

“As most newly renamed greens, i fall within several categories.

Extreme greenie: Giving new life to any material which emanated from earthly origins. Hunting for recyclables and other redeeming qualities. Feeding animals a steady freegan diet. without embarrassment or wastefulness from a quaint view of protein transformation to eggs and meat products. A lifestyle which appears uncommon amid surrounding consumerism.

Green Moms: as a mother, i have shown savage protectionism against the commercial elements, in our native France as well as in the US. It takes unusual temerity to stand strong against the haves and the always gets. To raise children without electricity, ergo no TV, no other form of entertainment besides a writer mother with more bedtime stories than the library. Big on creativity, light on moving expenses. A do-it-yourself world of obedience to environmental awareness.

Green intellectuals: my experience is mostly empiric in the matter of science, classes in environmental classes filled degree requirements. Reading Mother Earth mag cover to cover. Blogging about environmental dangers qualifies me as an auto- didactic thinker.

Green samaritans: rectifying ecological abuse around wherever i live. Be it the studies on rare amphibians, re-building earthen dams, saving biomass and bio-diversity on few acres. Sharing tips on conservation and talking to classes whenever i am author in the schools.
Thank you for promoting the least among us with open mind and hand.”

When much of Texas energy is produced by wind, when air and water are cleaner, shall we require that the promoters of renewable energy take an oath of poverty in order to create environmentally sane enterprises?

It is not the lower middle class wage which will fast forward the remedy to environmental abuse anytime soon. So i applaud any effort from these who do have large assets and choose to use them to propel green business into our near future.”

Although security seems to have faded from the central theme, reassuring temperaments will normalize domestic and foreign affairs until the world begins to recover from too many imperial goals.
The Obama and Biden ticket offers a palatable blend of humanity, experience, age, and fresh attitude.
