“Sunday is a pretty name and I've always thought "Rose" was a great middle name for a girl.

However, I was never given a middle name since my parents wanted me to use my maiden name, "Wilson," as a middle name when I got married.

Well, I thought "Wilson" was a swell last name so when I got married to a guy with an unspellable last name, I kept "Wilson" as my last name. Much to his credit, my husband was delighted with this since when we make reservations we don't have to go through 5 minutes of spelling his last name---we just use "Wilson."

My mother, a teacher, had twin students named "Iwo" and "Jima" since their Dad fought there. I thought that was totally cool.

Who was it who said: "What's in a name?" I'll be you all know.”

“There are fat, thin and in-between stars on the cooking channel that I love to watch and have learned a lot from.

Rachel Ray isn't one of them. As far as I tell, she mostly chops up vegetables and opens cans and dumps them on some meat she's fried or grilled, and yaks non-stop while she's doing it.

But this is beside the point. Hundreds of people get fired every day, some for good reasons and some for bad reasons. If this guy's firing is newsworthy, let's have a story about everyone who's getting fired or laid off no matter who they are or for whom they work.”

“In my car, turned up full blast---Madonna's music has made the miles and me fly. On the dance floor, her music has taught me how to "dance like no one's watching"----otherwise, I know little about her but she and her music have given me huge pleasure.

Her personal life is of no interest to me but my personal life has been greatly enriched by her songs and her great performances.”

“I agree with you up to a point. Until age 60-plus, I loved my glasses and have always thought they were not only a fashion "accessory" but also after a certain age they cover a multitude of evils!!

However, last month I finally caved in and got cataract surgury, which I guess is very different from lasik, and suddenly my vision is perfect and I don't need glasses at all. I miss them!! However, it is nice to be able to see again, my cataracts made everything hazy (which is not always a bad thing, it's kind of a shock to look in the mirror now.)

There is always a trade-off, but I don't think eye surgery is a good idea unless/until glasses no longer work to correct your vision.”

“Speaking of Edwards and Richardson, I think either one of them would be a terrific running mate for Obama.

I hope they both endorse him soon and in their endorsement statements, make it clear that they would be happy to run with Obama as his vice-president. That would give the media something to talk about, none of it good for Clinton!!”

“I once was admitted on an emergency basis to a hospital in NYC that specialized in plastic surgery.

My problem was entirely gastric but the whole floor I was on was filled with teenage girls who had just had a "nose job."

Since I was about 35 at the time and a "Mom figure" my room was filled all days with these little girls who were all explaining that they had "nasal problems" which required the surgery. Yeah, sure.

I was laughing about this with the nurse and she said: "You should see the next floor up, it's all sex-change operations."

Then she told me some of the things that were being done on the "next floor up" and believe me, you don't want to know.”
