Progressive Hope

Commented Nov 26, 2009 at 08:37:16 in Politics

“FB: I second your comment. There is a weakness in O. , no fighting spirit, and no advocacy for the American people. He should have articulated from day one what "The Public Option" was and why the American people would benefit from this offer. Nary a word out of him and when he spoke, there was no conviction for the PO. He wanted health care settled before August break, but, instead, he allowed Congress to go on their month vacation, while Americans were dying due to a lack of health care. Enter, the crazy Tea-Baggers, who worked their madness throughout the entire month of August. This did not have to happen, if the Dems worked hard and refused to go on vacation until something was done for people. I stopped paying attention to health care babble more than 2 months ago when I came to the conclusion that the corporations had won and the American people are out in the cold, once again. Here I am paying the thieves at BC BS $16,000 per year and the SOB's gave me another first-time whammy by adding a huge deductible. Disgusting and totally outrageous. Americans are just so very scr**ed.”

We the Populists: How to Make Taxpayer Funded Bailouts Toxic

Commented Nov 21, 2009 at 08:53:03 in Business

“Dr. Monk,
Thanks. I just made a phone call and expressed my concerns to a real live person at GS and not an answering machine. These companies need to stop feeding at the public tax payer's expense. Accountability needs to return and pronto.”

Jimedsmith replied on Nov 21, 2009 at 10:30:39

“Tell this President to fire somebody and expect that to do any good, dream on. The constitution reads, "for the people and BY the people". I think by the people means electing the right people and holding their feet to the fire or they will not be re-elected.

The Tea Party crowd are doing just that. We will organize with by laws, so we will all be on the same page. We then support certain candidates, before we get behind a candidate they have to sign a document stating how they are expected to vote on certain issues in Congress.

That document also states that document also states that we have to be consulted on new issues and advise our Congress person how we expect them to vote. We the people will be doing what we should have be doing. We the people will be watching to be sure they don't break their pledge. Something we the people should have been doing since 1776.

The problem does not rest with the government, the problem is our fault. Will you join with us and get the right people elected to office with a signed document committing to serve us for a change? Or, will you continue to gripe to the choir?”

Obama, China, and Wishful Thinking About American Jobs

Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 17:08:35 in Politics

“JCB. I could not agree more. Dr. Reich is a national treasure. When Dr. Reich talks/writes, I sit up and take notice. He should be in my Treasury Dept., not that Geithner-Summers duo who never, ever, should have been appointed there. Out Timmy, in with Dr. Reich. He has my vote of confidence.”

A Wake Up Call on Jobs

Commented Nov 16, 2009 at 07:24:15 in Politics

“V: I don't think your term, "Aggressive" is inherent in O.'s makeup and that is too bad. I see that as a weakness b/c you have to have to have a mix of calm, but an aggressive, nasty streak if you ever hope to win against the rabid repubs. They have a lock on nasty, dirty, fear mongering, bottom feeding and they ply their trade quite well. O. never, ever should have put the Geithner-Summers duo in Treasury and that was a huge mistake from the get-go. He can correct that massive error by showing them the door. If he does not create millions of jobs, then Dems lose in 2010 and again in 2012. It is as simple as that.”

“DP: I agree. She is mean. For example: consider that she speaks through clenched teeth, her jaw jutting out, which lends itself to nasal resonance. Her voice is shrill/strident and there is no depth or compassion in this person. She is mentally challenged to such a degree that the little w. guy looks like a genius next to her. In conclusion, she has a wonderful chance of becoming President and the right-wing crazies will assist in her ascendancy.”

“G2, Thanks for your service. I agree. People will be marching in the streets if the draft is re instituted. 58,000 young, brave American soldiers died and 3 million people from Vietnam died in that hell hole and here we are at it again. I'm sick and scared just thinking about what horror awaits our soldiers. War has to stop now.”

Liberal Elitism Will Make Sarah Palin President - How Only Union Organizing Can Stop It

Commented Nov 12, 2009 at 10:42:38 in Politics

“Mr. Elk: I hope that the Liberal powers that be focus on your comments. The last thing we need is S. Palin as the next President and the Commander-in-Chief. “MZ: I, too, believe in "Give peace a Chance." I detest war and more war. The little w. guy and his band of thieves, liars, and warmongers sent our teenagers off to die and 4600 of them lie dead under the ground. Our country is bankrupt, but we still beat the drums for more war? It makes no sense and must stop now.”

What a Difference a Year Makes: Will We Ever Have Truth in Politics?

Commented Nov 06, 2009 at 08:40:55 in Politics

“Hillary was right, "He can give a great speech but.....................". There is a weakness in this new President. He does not know how to fight down and dirty, bottom feed like the nasty repubs, who have worked each day to see him fail. Did the little w. guy ever seek out the Democrats in eight long, miserable years during his Reign of Terror? No, Dems were relegated to the basement of the Congressional Building and were not allowed on T.V. to express their views. There was a total Democratic blackout in the media for eight years. Dems used to fight years ago and there was never an issue too large or small, when they would come out of their cages barking like rabid animals: barking and advocating for the American people and their welfare. Now, they are a shell of their former selves. Americans are starving, homeless, scared with no jobs or health care and they are left on their own, to fend for themselves. I thought Obama would turn the tide for good, but, so far, not much has materialized for the American people. He has only a short time to made good on his promises to the American people or elections will place the nasties back in power. That will be a sad day for moderates in both parties.”

“TDD: Yes, we are being ripped off and then some. I still want to know what happened to my 10 billion dollars that went missing in Iraq, my 780 billion dollar give away to filthy corporations, and I want the W. administration prosecuted for war crimes. They were/are liars, cheats, warmongers and still roam free without a second of accountability. This is just plain wrong. That Geithner-Summers duo should never have been placed in my Treasury and I was outraged by that move. O. needs to clean house and pronto.”

“My PB (pocket book) is open and will continue to be open for A. Grayson. I have given twice, the second time for his Money Bomb campaign on Nov. 2. My PB, however, is jammed shut for other Dems, until I see spine, more spine, and promised progress, which has not transpired. I see/hear too much jabbering, but no action. When Dems do what they said they would do, then the money will flow to them, but they have to earn it. You just can't give flowery speeches, smile, read a teleprompter, turn off the lights and think that you will be rewarded. No, actions must follow words. It is as simple as that.”

“I second that. I watched and listened to A. Grayson read all of the names of the dead. No wonder the nasty repubs. wanted to shut him up. That is not A. Grayson's style, he just kept going. I sent money to Mr. Grayson, then sent more money for his Money Bomb Day. I will keep sending money, as long as Mr. Grayson continues to read the names of the dead and they are dead b/c they had no health-care coverage. This is a national outrage, an absolute disgrace.”

“MSNBC: Thank you for The Ed Show, which is now my #1 Fav. on my T.V. I listened to Ed for years on my XM Radio, but enjoy watching him each night. He has passion for the average American schlep, just trying to survive each day and to put "Food on their family.", as the little w. guy used to say. Speaking of XM-Sirius Radio, they do not like liberals from 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern time and make them pay to suffer during rush hour. That show is the pits and it replaced Rachel, no less. The right-wing crazies have their free shows on TV and radio 24/7, lots and lots of choices, while people like me have to pay for the privilege each day. It is just not fair and balanced. Do Love, Ed, Keith, Rachel.”

Why Keep Geithner?

Commented Nov 02, 2009 at 08:48:19 in Business

Going Rouge Skewers Palin

Commented Oct 31, 2009 at 10:05:05 in Books

“I: I think that would be hysterical. I'd love to see Going Rogue triple ol' Sarah's book sales. In fact, I'll go a step further and buy the book. I understand her book is on the discount racks as I write, for the price of $9.99----That's down from its original price of around $28.00. Her nemesis is Levi and boy, he knows many things about her that he is not revealing. But for the right amount of $, I bet he will sing like a bird.”

Rmath replied on Oct 31, 2009 at 12:49:57

“Levi's book sales oughta dwarf hers.”

pgsteward replied on Oct 31, 2009 at 10:26:13

“What an amazing statement. Going Rogue will NOT be on store bookshelves until November 17. Simply have a look at Amazon.com and you could easily confirm that fact.

However, never have a Liberal have facts get in the way of an argument.”

Breaking Up the Big Banks, and Why Congress Won't Do It

Commented Oct 27, 2009 at 06:32:04 in Business

“Geithner-Summers should never, ever been given $ jobs. Here they are catering to every whim of their friends in high places, as opposed to advocating for the American people. I was not happy with many of the people O. put in his administration. I'm thinking Hillary was right, "He can give a good speech but......". Obama Online -- Where Are the Young Supporters?

Commented Oct 24, 2009 at 07:11:33 in Technology

“O: See, that's the problem, as I don't view O. as progressive at all. Plus, his henchman, Rham has been kicking lefties under the bus. You know, the lefties who busted their a**es to get O. in the WH. You don't disrespect the people who got you in the big white house. Therefore, in 2010, the young, and the left wing of the party will go to the polls, but not with much enthusiasm. All that I have written will be a moot point, if O. delivers the goods in the next year. I have confidence that he will turn things around. Who would want to inherit the bag of doo doo left behind by the little w. guy anyway?”
