Blaming Bush for the 2000 election is a relatively small matter. He blundered everything else while setting the record for most vacations.

George W. Bush took vacation time for FOUR months out of EVERY year he was in the White House. You, me and all other tax payers paid GWB to go on vacation for a cumulative TWO YEARS and EIGHT MONTHS during his 8 FAILED years.

This went on while 2 wars were fought in the Middle East and other places around the world needed attention. Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005. Where was he? Crawford Ranch, Camp David or joyriding Air Force 1 to different places. The economy plummeted but he went to Bejing for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

“Where's your source for that? Not that it matters. In September 2001, I remember polls saying that Democrats were going to pick up 40-50 seats in the House. In 2005, they were saying that the GOP was going to hold onto a significant majority. I've been around politics for long enough to know that polls at this stage of the midterm cycle are about as reliable as Republican economic policies.

The bottom line is that the GOP has made itself politically irrelevant by alienating the very demographics it's going to need if it is ever going to become viable on a national level.”
