they act like young girls arent being married young in developed countries.
I thought that was kind of rude/prejudiced.”

“Everything is not prejudice. This is a commentary on the proliferation of girls under 15 getting married in the countries listed. I tried to find similar statistics for the us and there are none. It is illegal for girls to be married in the US without parental consent and few (if any) give it anymore. I know people from one of the countries listed and it is a fact. If you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend you do not see little girls married off in any of those countries claiming that they are married in developed countries does not make it so. They are not. A 17 year old cannot get married in most parts of the United States without parental consent. Most other developed countries are the same. Instead of protesting the article - be a source of changing the facts in the nations listed. If only the one you live in.”
“we hear about it because of the internet. was there internet back then?”

“Internet has been around for decades in one form or the other and I looked at some statistics after our last exchange and actually child deaths in vehicles due to exposure/heat injuries has been pretty constant for the past 30 years or so; to an extent then you are right. We do just hear about it more but apparently I was just as safe as a child as kiddos are today. Let's me go back to my very first thought upon reading this story.... not that big of a deal and blown out of proportion.”
“It will just result in our addicts dying sooner.
Drugs will be here always, as will users.
The drug of choice doesn't really matter because if it's not one drug it will be another and they all can kill.
(other than weed, which i dont count as a drug.)”
“how does a 14 year old get that fkd up, so young?
also, I noticed that it was mentioned that he is to be held without bond...I wonder, if there were a bond, would his family post his bail?”

“"One student who said she had also stayed after school to receive extra help that day said Chism appeared to become upset when Ritzer began talking about Tennessee"...you have to wonder what prompted the move to Mass. from Tennessee in the first place and what happened before he moved away that got him so upset when the teacher mentioned Tennessee. I'm betting he was suspected of doing similar crimes back in Tennessee and his mother decided to move him far away before the law caught up to him.”

“They see enough things in those video games and movies to know how to hurt people. These kids learn too much bad stuff and then they have the strength to over power others. This is how this happens.”

“nevaehs - I've wondered if something happened in Tennessee. He and his mother moved from there, and the article says he was upset when the teacher brought it up. I'd like to know if there were any mysterious/bizarre assaults or dead animals or something, because you just don't wake up and decide to kill someone out of the blue. This took a bit of planning, I'd think. But even if it didn't, I'd like to know if his mother has been questioned and what she has to say about his past.”

“Usually the culprit is lack of affection coupled with constant criticism....well that's the formula for a psycho at least.”

“Of course the family would! People are delusional when it comes to that sort of thing, "Oh my child could have NEVER done something like this!"”

“Get used to it ... we are going to see a lot of it in the coming years ... We have generations coming up that don't give a chit about anyone but themselves .”

“I think you're asking the million dollar question. So little life experience to make one into a cold blooded killer. I know it's used a lot, but in this boys case, I truly believe there is a mental defect. Unless something shocking comes out that refutes it, I'm leaning in the direction of him being a very sick kid.”
“But it is happening. Thats the thing.

“Yes, it is, I wish it were less painful. It hurts. Abortion should never be a form of punishment, it should be the last resort under extreme circumstances, just like death penalty. Abortion is one of the many forms of the Power To Kill. I do not support the concept of the Power To Kill.”
