“Well, what did you expect? The unemployment payments were held up leaving the people without a check. Remember how fast Wall Street was bailed out? If Wall Street had been flooded money would be made available immediately. That's just the way it works.”
“I am afraid Krugman is right: our President is a wimp. Or he really is a Republican masquerading as a Democrat. I'd place my money on the latter. After all, the President had four years to gain experience in negotiations...”

“He was trained in the law, for Christ's sake, and should have been adept at negotiation strategies long ago. He may be bumbling through his administration in some respects, but he is light years better than the alternatives.
Oh, BTW, your party affiliation observation is right on the mark. In response to his being branded a commie-nazi-marxist-whatever, with amusement, Obama one remarked that, back in the 1950's, he would have been called a moderate Republican. I am old enough to attest that his appraisal is valid....”

“President Obama wanted $250K as cut-off for middle-class Americans
Republicans wanted $1 Million as cut-off for middle-class Americans
President Obama got $400/450K as cut-off for middle-class Americans ... which is probably more the middle these days. (By the way, more Democrats were also more comfortable with the $400/450K cut-off than the original $250K.)
How do you define negotiation and where does compromise fit into your definition?”

“ha - he sent joe to do just what he told him - krugman should be glad the dow went up and he gained on his millions - some folks just can't take yes or no for an answer!”
“Great. Inheritance taxes remain the same. Mind you, the middle class won't have much to pass on to their heirs, but it's important to protect the inheritance of the well-to-do.
Obama, you caved. Why? You did not have to!”

“Inheritance taxes have been too low for too long. I don't think the people fully understand the implications of low to no inheritance taxes. In the end, which may already be here. All of the nation's wealth will be owned by a minority of families or in modern times families and corporations. I know Obama tried, they wouldn't have made such a fuss if he didn't but the people have to fight and win this battle. Sooner than later.”
“Remember how quickly Congress bailed out Wall Street but then began dragging their feet when it came to extend unemployment insurance for the laid off?
All the while they voted themselves hefty pay increases.”

“Yes, that is the way it is done. Wall Street banksters have been haunting the halls of Congress for many a decade and nothing has changed. You make an excellent point my friend. PEACE”
“@Superglickster1 -- The last President, yes Bush, has to shoulder a real big blame for this huge deficit. Two unfunded wars plus a huge tax-cut. Now that was insane.”

“We were attacked, had hurricanes, went through a credit crunch and housing crises, both caused by Dems...
We didn't want to slow the economy, so he didn't raise taxes or lower spending. Does that sound familiar? BO hasn't learned. ”
