“That has certainly been their intent since Ronald Reagan - their Lord and savior- was "puppeted" by the likes of Don Regan and company. It has been downhill all the way since he took office.

When Reagan took office, my husband was a union glazier making $500 a week in the 70's. He had the best health insurance money could buy, plus a generous pension. He passed away in the mid 70's, just at the time that my youngest son was in Catholic High School and destined for college. Reagan wiped out Social Security for a child of a deceased parent, even if a full time student when he reached 18 (before that it was until 21, if a full time student.and wiped out Social Security for me, the widow, when my son turned 16. I was fortunate we had bought a house in the 60's and was able to borrow against it time and time again to help pay for my son's Catholic University tuition, which at the time was $10,000 a year. To-day, that same University is $40,000 a year and only the rich can afford to go there. My grandchildren cannot afford to go to public university in California, which is now in the $20,000 range per year - so where do they go. They are doomed to low paying jobs without access to college. This is the future of families who were once known as the "middle class".”

“Wait a minute, isn't this article about Dodd/Shelby semi agreement on a Consumer Protection Bill. Shelby doesn't want to protect the consumer's, he only want's to protect and banks, so how can that be an agreement. Just look at the grin on that guy's face, he looks so smug, like he just pulled a fast one on Dodd. Why are we, the voters and taxpayer's the last ones to get protection for or from anything. This sucks.”

He had a fantastic talk show on radio here with many of the best political minds interviewed on a daily basis, before he started running for the Senate. I stood up and clapped when I saw Al giving Lieberman a sucker punch.”

Merry Hyatt, Tea Party Patriot, Wants Mandatory Christmas Carols In Public Schools

Commented Dec 11, 2009 at 00:23:06 in Politics

“Go to church if you want to hear Christmas carols. I am a Catholic and I don't want any of you teabaggers interfearing in how my kids celebrate Christmas in school. As the previous writer said, the Christians decided to celebrate Christ's birthday in conjunction with the Winter solstice, or where I come from = the Druids to try to win the people away from worshiping nature. I heard this at a lecture by a Catholic priest at a Catholic University.

Tell them to sing Jingle Bells, or I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas. I have had enough of a country where Church and State were one and I don't want to see it happen here. Find something constructive to do with your life. My very best friend, who happens to be a Math teacher and Jewish, will fight you to the death to keep religion out of the schools. She doesn't believe in Christmas.”

“The Republican's never saw a regulation that they liked, so to think they are going to vote for "regulations" to get the Health Insurance bill passed is ludicrous. Republican's 1, Democrats 0.
What else is new. I thought we won the election with an overwhelming majority, yet one every bill that the Democrats have tried to pass, it was shot down by the Republicans. Show me where I can sign up for the Green Party, or who is willing to start a Progressive Party. How is it that European countries have half a dozen parties and they have to combine their votes to make a ruling government. Oops, forgive me. Shouldn't mention another country being smarter than American Exceptionalism.”

“Luck you. I think I am about to go home to the "Old Country" after 50 years of a wonderful ride. The last 8 years have destroyed it all. America is finished - no industry, no jobs, no health care, no decent education, unless you can pay for it and on and on. My kids now have dual citizenship, so I think it is time for us to move on and watch from a distant shore and good old USA sink under it's own stupidity.”

“It's about time someone told it like it is. The Corporate Republicans are hell bent on turning this country into a wholely owned subsidiary. As a matter of fact, it already is. Is this the reason the Republicans keep calling the U.S. exceptionalist. I wonder how many of these neanderthals have ever actually traveled to the hundreds of countries that have state of the art transportation, solar and wind power, free higher education, etc. and have five thousand years of history and have not invaded another country in the last two hundred years. I know it is impossible for you people to know what is going on in the world when all you listen to is the lies told by Glen Beck and blubber but in Florida. Where do you go to get contradictory information.”

weapons. We are just not going to put up with it. What is she planning on doing about it. A spokeswoman for Harper Collins tells NBC News more than 1,000 copies of "Going Rogue" have been sold. The bookstore has already run out of wristbands for those standing in line since early this morning. That means the rest of those who waited in the cold will likely not get a chance to get their book signed by Sarah Palin tonight."

“I wonder if all the Congressmen and women and all the Senators in the country have asked to have abortion coverage removed from their government approved health plans. Maybe we, as citizens, should go the streets and demand that all coverage for abortion, birth control pills, morning after pills, and breast cancer, should be immediately removed from their insurance. This is American style Taliban. No rights whatsoever for women, except to work and reproduce. This is the 21st Century - not the 17th.”

“I am a Catholic and I am pro-choice, anti war and anti death penalty. Where do we separate these three issues. The pro lifers in the Christian Fundamentalist side are not anti war, or anti death penalty. Where do they get off telling pro choice people how to live. There are people in this country of diverse religious faiths, or no religious faith. Why should they be dictated to by the Catholic fringe in a country that Constitutionally separated between Church and State. If the Catholic Church had it's way, there would be no birth control, no morning after pill and yet I don't ever hear them speak out about Viagra. Once the women decide - no more sex until they get the health care they need, there would be a sea change in this country.”
