“"Totally feminist"? Seriously? So pretty anything that involves a female of any kind, someone is going to try to slap a "feminist" label on it to try and make feminism appear relevant, eh? This has nothing whatever to do with a political or religous movement. It's college kids having fun and representing their schools. Leave the politics out of it.”

“I agree, not at all Feminist. It's sexist and it has consequences.”

“Taser revised it's instructions last year, while still claiming its weapon doesn't kill, and now instructs to aim for the belt buckle, almost guaranteeing a shot to the genitals any time the front of a victim is targetted.”

“The police have been targetting the genitals of males routinely because no one ever does anything about it and the courts constantly permit it. The only reason this story is even getting any attention is because this man is in the process of becoming a woman. If not for that, it would be ignored. But it shouldn't be. It should be the same crime regardless of whether they do this to a man or to a man becoming a woman - sexual assault.”

“I'm a sexual assault 'survivor', too, but then very few victims of sexual assault actually die from it. That's not a word that has much of anything to do with sexual assault or why it is such a horrible crime. Calling us 'survivors' really cheapens what we went through.”

“I agree with every single word of this article. I've been observing this trend for years and it is alarming. Unfortunately it isn't limited to just Tasers. Many police departments use sexual assault and sexual torture of male suspects as 'pain compliance' too, and as long as the victims are male they get away with it despite the fact that it is supposedly illegal. With the introduction of Tasers the use of sexual violence and torture has dramatically increased, often with horrific consequences. Google Tavares Browning for a fine example. He was 27 and is now permanently impotent and incontinent because 3 officers aimed for his groin and fired their Tasers all at once before a fourth officer jumped on him and rammed his Taser into Tarvares groin before pulling the trigger and literally frying his genitals. This is how some police arrest unarmed, nonviolent Americans. And not a single thing is being done to stop this.”

“I guess the guy should have obeyed the lawful orders of the police who had a lawful warrant for his arrest and the actions you described would not have taken place. I have not read any documentatioin to reflect how "many police departments use sexual assault" on suspects as pain compliance.”
